  3. Last year we couldn't get em to go on anything but small perch colored spoons, and that's what they were coughing up. We caught a few bumping bottom in 130' but the bait clouds were almost non existent. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Wow Rollie great day! Any pics of the big girl? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  6. Launched Severene trolled North went 5 for 8 on cookie cutter Lakers, tough bite. All on FF except first pole in, ten color with yellow n silver spoon. Fish were there but very negative. Saw a guy catch one on cow bells, lol! Water was 38.5 and gin clear. We could see bottom in 40' wow! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I apologize for any bash just my experience I had with the group. Again kudos to what you do, great job! There should be more guys out there doing it. As for kids I've worked hard to get kids involved in the outdoors, tomorrow I am taking a friend of my kid that is home on leave (marines) to Seneca fishing. I've coached and hopefully been a positive role model for getting kids involved in the outdoors. Your organization is great, be sure to ask where every dollar goes. Is everyone a volunteer? They were so adamant at the test that I needed to join it turned me off so when I started asking questions that's when things went south. BTW, Gotta love them mutts! 8. Use 30 lb and hand line em in. Have never had a problem with fish seeing it. The lighter line should be used on rigs above 50' IMO. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Don't want to put the organization down but these are my problems, follow the money where every dollar goes " hierarchy", their idea of how to teach tracking, and most have no idea how to read a dog. They couldn't tell you the difference between a two yr old deer track and a four yr old. How do you tell when your dog isn't on the correct track. Difference between air checking and ground checking. How about the way I have found multiple deer, look for crows. Stuff that I have learned doing this hundreds of times. The first question I got from them was what breed is your dog. It's a mutt, one that works her butt off for hours and never wants to quit. She is now 14 and is retired I'm considering another dog but my heart isn't into another 10-12 yrs of guys that think they made a lethal shot. I give you a huge amount of respect for what you do. If you ever want to talk pm me I'll give you my number. John Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I'm a licensed leashed tracker and we have tracked over 25 times a year for the last 8 or so years. My phone rings off the hook without deersearch. Sorry I don't agree with a lot of their ways. Deersearch has nothing to do with the licensing process, besides having input on the questions on the test. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I'd try running a #1 dipsy back 250-280' with a 15' lead hook up a Spin doctor and a blue, green or white fly, the length of the fly leader is critical, longer 24-33" this time of year. That dipsy should be bumping bottom, let it. The Lakers should be right down the middle 70-80' a good fish finder would confirm that. Speed should be 2.4 and if you get nothing try switching to a flutter spoon, smaller size and slow it down. Good luck. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. My good finds over the years. About 40 decent sheds and some dead heads I found and killed, lol! Last one is my dog Shed, and a 69" half a ten. Two from Texas two from Newfoundland. It becomes an obsession! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Well said, I've stayed out of this one cause I couldn't think of something positive to say... what was that old saying? ... The majority of guys on here are happy to help other guys catch fish, period. Dial em in boys and leave enough for all to enjoy. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Drove by the Susquehanna yesterday, a large section of it, lol! ( From Baltimore to Owego), the color of the water was light green and looked almost like perfect steel head water. Level was somewhat low and very fishable. Go get the cats! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. We found that when the cats are feeding 4' or less of water is key. The fast water can produce some of the best action. Find the shallowest spot and if there is a deep cut or under cut the cats will be using that to come up into the shallows to feed. If you can, catch a fall fish and use him as cut bait, or crawfish. 4' of water seems to be best, yes you can catch em in deep pools but the action can be great in shallow, especially if you find a submerged tree. Spots can change from year to year, no fish in 20 min. Move! Good luck! As for launch points, check out Dec web site or PA launch sites. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Birds were hot for a bit in am then we got some rain and they shut off got back on em after noon and got aggressive calling and they were hammering! 21. Way cool pics, after looking at the second picture I was wondering if those longbeards would kick that Jake's butt!! I'm Headed to Florida to peruse the Osceola! Saturday opener! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Those were epic floods. Many pollutants were put into the watershed. I had a job on the river helping a survey crew plot the river bottom by the sewage treatment plant in Vestal this past year. Honestly I will never eat another fish out of that river. There is a section below the plant where they discharge that was totally void of all life. The black sludge with bits of TP smelled terrible and killed everything! I used to love to walleye and catfish there. Now, not so much! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. That rack has a ton of character, too bad he didn't live a few more years, nice find. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
