  1. Not sure about a campsite at chq. The koa and camp prendergast arent open. Maybe camp chautauqua could accommodate you. Fishing hasn’t been as good as it was for us. Casting seems to be the best bet right now. It looks pretty cold this week there. Yesterday may have been our last day on chq for the year. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Thanks guys. Nice fish everybody. Good action for PA Pete. I think i fished that lake once a long time ago. Id like to try it again but the drive sucks for me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I was at chq closing camp and fishing the last several days. Id say it was turning over or just did while we were there. Saw temps as high as 55 a few days ago. 49 north this morning. Caught some fish casting and trolling this trip. Nothing huge...biggest was 44”. Dad got a nice 51” when were up the weekend of the 13th though.
  4. Nice thick fish. Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Thanks guys. Way better than catching them myself. Good idea Joe. Pappy can help her hold the next one. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Dad and i have been doing pretty well lately, and there aren’t really any kids left in the campground. So, we have been able to get my 9 year old daughter out in the boat with us for a little bit the last couple weekends. She had previously caught one smaller muskie each of the last two seasons. Im so happy she picked a good time to get out and got a few decent fish. She got 3 one morning a week ago and a couple more saturday evening. The last one was really nice and about all she can handle now. It jumped all the way out of the water when she was reeling it in too. We are very happy and proud. 7. Since you have seastar hydraulic steering, they make a tie bar as others have said. They are expensive though. You may want to call and discuss the specific parts needed for your tiller. https://www.iboats.com/shop/seastar-solutions-single-cylinder-tie-bar-ho6001.html?cm_mmc=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsqCDhJKx3QIVAYbICh3k3weeEAQYBCABEgL6ivD_BwE Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Through bolt and use 1/4" aluminum backing plates. Use lock nuts. This is your best bet. If you can't use the backing plates due to space or access, at least bolt through and use fender washers.
  9. Heres a couple of our nicer chq fish from this year. First one was a 50”er from july for dad. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. After turnover, but thats pretty late. The bloom really isnt bad. Definitely shouldnt stop you from coming. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Chq gets an algae bloom every year anymore. Herbicides or not. If theres some wind its not bad. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. I responded to your pm. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I dont disagree with any of that. The 3 years are 2014, 2015, and 2018. I know they killed weeds this year, but there were even less the other two years. Not sure why. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I don't think I like chemicals/pellets being used to kill the weeds like they did this year. However, I can definitely tell you that our best 3 trolling years on the lake, out of about 20 years, are 3 years that the lake had the fewest weeds. I know it's not a coincidence.
  15. You're welcome. This is what you want if you get a navionics card. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Navionics/1580199.uts?productVariantId=3410222&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03628142&rid=20&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl77B2t6v2wIVzbrACh2wfQTUEAQYAyABEgI0EPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds They send you a blank card with a one year membership where you can go to their website and download any of the lake regions you want on the card. I downloaded from the St Lawrence over to Minnesota, down to Tennessee and Kentucky, as well as Ontario and some of Quebec on my card. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. I just looked again. The navioncs chip does have the lake detail under the "sonar charts". I believe these are maps that are created from data from lowrance users. They aren't the navigational charts.
  17. I have Lowrance units but mine are the newer touch model. Regardless, the pre-loaded maps that come with the units are pretty limited in most cases. I use a Navionics chip and it is great for the waters i fish. I also have a Navionics Charts App on my phone. I just looked at it and they have the outline of Cowanesque, but there is not detail/contour lines/depths, etc. So, don't buy a Navioncs card in hopes of using it for that lake. It just must be too small.
  18. Actually, i think they all bite each other. Now that ive re-watched it a few times, i think those were two males fighting over the one female Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Thanks for getting the videos posted for me Chad. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. I got some cool videos of muskies spawning in Prendergast Creek behind our camper a few weeks back. Adam
  21. Thanks again guys. Can't wait to get to Chautauqua this weekend.
  22. Not that you can't fish Chautauqua in a 12' boat, but I would probably go cast Cassadaga if I were you. I haven't personally fished it, but I know guys that go over there and get 3 or 4 casting. Chautauqua will be crowded this weekend and there's a good chance of storms all 3 days. Wind looks light as of now, except Saturday morning. However, you never know what may blow up with storms. Don't take this the wrong way Chad ( I know you won't), but it's broodstock.
  23. Nice Zach. Yesterday must have been a good turkey day. I took a picture of a bird for my neighbor that he got yesterday morning also. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
