Picked up a decent 9 pt on the 19th. Wind was blowing pretty good in the morning and decided to sit on the ground. My dad was on a side hill about 400 yards away. I hadn't seen any deer and at 830 phone rings. Dad said he had 3 doe and a buck below him but to far for a shot. He said they were headed in my direction and to keep an eye in that direction. About 25 minutes later a doe appeared with him right behind her. I had the 7 mag up and ready to fire. He hit the opening and the 7 mag smoked him. Dad was over shortly after and the celebration began. -
Yep, we're talking about the same one. I like the bead idea and think I'll give that a shot. -
Pap - had mixed success with these. I could get bites on these when nothing else would work. My only problem was keeping a solid hookup. Lost a lot of fish on these. Was curious to see how others would run hooks for these?

I don't have a CVA but have had great luck with 100 grains of 777 and the 250 grain TC shockwaves with ballistic tips. My gun is super accurate with these and has had great knockdown power. -

No worries, everyone has an opinion - I like having the camera to get an idea of what is there and what time of the day. It's worked well for me and as referenced above you need to be conscious of scent and don't check it everyday. Check it once a week and during mid day and I think you'll be fine. I truly believe it's helped my success more than hurt it. Good luck and let us know how you do!

I would put it close to it or a trail they're using to get there.

Can't hurt to throw a camera up. I would only check mid day and not very often. You would be surprised how many deer it will catch that you'll never see. Good luck!
