  1. on an aluminum boat I am assuming? should I change out to a heavy duty base? I believe they sell them.
  2. I have an islander with 3 Cannon stx riggers. They are super fast. When they stop at the top they bounce. To me it bounces a lot. I am curious as to anyone's experience here because I am concerned about possibly losing a downrigger. Maybe I am just paranoid. This is my first year with the set up and I am considering an aluminum or steel railing to mount riggers and rod holders to for extra support. I know more is probably better but I would prefer to forgo the expense. Any advise or ideas would be appreciated.
  3. and 3.0 liter v6. mercury and merc out drive as well.
  4. selling my older trolling boat because I did a serious upgrade last fall. it's a 19 ft starcraft medalist set up to fish. boat comes with canvas top, 2 or 4 crank down riggers. Lawrence Fish finder/gps, and rod holders. Great started boat. boat needs work but great for a do it yourselfer. it needs universal gear and new motor mount so selling well below value. 1800 obo. I do not know how to get pics on here. if interested i can text them over. other then the needed repairs it's in great condition for the age.
  5. is it worth trailering over from sodus area now? it seems pretty much over here for Kings
  6. Taking some guys out of Hughes tomorrow morning and they really want to get some Kings I have heard suggestions that we should start very deep if anybody's been out there the last couple days and had any luck please let me know
  7. I was out yesterday. We started in 250 didn't look to good trolled into around 100. Did a skippy as we were picking up to head deep. Ran out to 670 had 3 quick wacks. Landed Skippy and small steelhead. Then nothing for about an hour. Screens looked ok out deep. Heard browns were going so we picked up and ran into 30 ft. Fished that for 45 min with nothing and called it at 12. Things are mixed up but if you want some kings I would say go deep.
  8. Landshark-- I have 12lb black cannonballs.
  9. Out today and had a ton of fish streak up to look at my riggers but yet wouldn't take it. Had a mix of ff and spoons out. We did try different speeds and directions. Any suggestions would be great!
  10. Patriot that's different. I have never seem anything like it. Where can they be ordered
  11. Ok thanks. We found fish and had a ton of streakers but they just wouldn't go. We did try many directions but maybe should have been more methodical in our approach to it. Maybe something like marking a fishy spot on the GPS then hitting it in a few different directions at different speeds of nothing then move on. And the currents were terrible we had to run fewer lines and had some tangles.
  12. Glad you had some action. We were fishing in the same water and passed you a few times and am frustrated to say we had zero action. We tried multiple spoons, meat, different Flys, paddles, different speeds. We tried everything! I have been getting some coaching from others and I may be getting to much information but any suggestions would be great.
  13. Thought I would ask people to weigh in on their opinions for the best paddle, flasher or attractor to run with meat and fly. Include the brand, size and color. I think this will help many people.
  14. Have been told it's a bad idea to run my 500 copper off the boards at a shorter amount let's say 300. Is this mainly because of the cooper weighing your line down from boat to board line? Also if I want to mark my copper every 100ft what is a good method that will hold up.
  15. Correction the king on the cheater came on a ms green easter egg.
  16. Started in about 90 ft and set up headed north straight outta port. 1st 2 fish grabbed it in about 120 down 89. Pulled it in and had 2 skippy kings one on ms green tuxedo and one on the cheater a ms mixed veggies. Then a few rips on the dipsys, 2 more skippy kings on ms froggy. Took a nice laker about 14 on the ms green tuxedo down 80. Laker was eating well and shaped like a brown. Little after that we had to quit due to the weather and as we were pulling lines in one more small king on ms nbk. Green was the ticket for the small kings. Hope to find some bigger next time. Not bad for only 2 hours of fishing. Hope its a sign of good things to come.
