  1. If you have. GPS 2.5 to 2.8 was good for me Thursday Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Yes those screens were best for me on Thursday. Buy don't give up on inside water either I like to bounce between 80 ft and 180 then back in. Dipsy set out 180 or 240 with braid or wire will get you to the depths your looking for. Good luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Salmon north of T falls spoons and flasher flies 60 to 80 ft over 140 to 180 ft worked for.me on Thursday. Blue silver green silver and purple silver worked best for me for colors. Good luck. Tight lines. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  5. Thanks appreciate all advice that is given by folks on this site. I work too much and don't get out near as much as I would like to so I try to report on how I do when I do get to get out. Hope it helps some one as much as others have helped me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. That would indicate a slower speed would be needed to go south. On my small boat I have much more controlled over the speed and also notice in my journals alot slower fishing on a South troll. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Agree with you there i always thought the consistent current was south to North.. I know in the past I have broke down on the lake and always drift north.😔 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Might have to. Would love to see your boat some time. My name is Zach. Used to work on Glen Degear s farm when I was a kid. Your farm always impressed me with the condition and up keep. You have a real class a operation there. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. How did you make out to day. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Thanks big Dave. This year has been a blast for me on the lake with the boat. I have caught fish on every outing except the 1 and only trip to Mexico. The boat has handled as good as could be expected. Planning on hopefully giving her a little face lift this winter if I can find a place to keep her inside. Hope you don't mind but would love to keep the boats name the same. Hear changing their names is bad luck. Loon feather. I even had a friend from the Adirondack s find me a loon feather and I keep it on the boat. Thanks again for the ride. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. No down speed old school pay attention to rigger angle. Kind of limited though with going any slower boat wont idle down below 1000 rpm I am all ready dragging 4 buckets to slow me down to trolling speed. Tried 9.9 kicker yesterday and had same results as before. I caught some fish heading south but no where near as many as going north. 12. Flies were green and silver and purple and silver both behind a all silver pro troll. And spoons were stingers and moon shines in silver blue silver green and the only spoon I can remember the name of carbon 14. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Yup that was me I live right up the road from you. There was a dog in the road right in front of your place. I drool every time I drive by your place and see your boat I have often wondered if the owner was on this site glad to meet you. Wouldn't mind shaking your hand some time. I live right in preston. 14. Fleas and weeds were also a nucience today. Not.horible but worst I've seen them all year mostly just north of T falls. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Side note weeds and fleas were the worst they have been for me all year noth of t falls Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Lots of bait and fish marked north of the boy scout camp. Just Hard to get anything of any size. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Possibly not many other vehicles driving around to day towing boat and even fewer on the lake. Saw 2 boats all day. Caught alot of short salmon today on the west side between the falls and kidders. But had a good day was able to get a few in the 20 inch range and a decent size laker. Where is your farm. 18. Fished today out of Myers got to the lake today around 0830 and motored across to T falls and set up on a North troll. Divers at 240 and 280 both on 2 setting and downriggers at 85 and 65 with spoons. Both riggers stacked 20 foot above the ball. Picked first fish up north of the boy scout camp and had fairly steady pick of small atlantic s through out the day. Picked up a to of short fish 12 to 15 inch and 1 atlantic that couldn't have been more than 8 inches. Divers had flasher fly combos and fished spoons on the riggers. Best water was 140 to 180. Moved away from the smaller fish between the plant and kidders and fished my way back to crowbar. Not happened with South troll Wich seems to be a normal thing for me. Not sure why. Had a good day was able to get 1 laker around 7 lbs and 3 other salmon in the 20 inch range that came home released countless other fish to swim and fight again someday. Hoping to get 1 more trip in before boat gets put up for the winter. Good luck out there be safe. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  20. Small spoons and glow spoons have been good to. Green and black and white. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Set up just outside of taughnnock on a North troll with rigs in the 60 to 80 ft range you should have good luck keep moving from 60 to 80 ft of water out to the middle of Lake and back in. Use flasher flies in green or purple. That has been working the best for me lately. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. As far as dipsy settings I usally go with 3 ft out to 1 foot down with the diver on a 1 to 2. After I set past 2 I figure 4 ft out to 1 foot down. These are ruff estimates that work for me. When the diver is pulling out like on a 3 it's only going to dive down just so far before time will belly out and not go any farther. The stacking of flashers is all very relivent to the distance behind the down rigger ball and the speed of the boat. I don't normally stack flasher on flasher but to do so I would give them a minimum of 10 to 12 ft. I usally stack at 10 to 20 ft intervals. Just my experience. 23. I've never used a trolling plate do they make boat controlled difficult just wondering. Right now I'm dragging 4 buckets out of my boat to achieve trolling speeds. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I know the surgeons are in the lake but I would have never thought in the numbers I was marking. But I really don't know much on the sturgeon except they can be huge. Anyway thanks. When you fish in the winter do you launch out of the falls. Myers is the closest to me but I don't know if that launch is accessible all winter or not. The coming from the east going all the way around the lake adds quite alot to travel time for me. Is there any launches on the east side that are definitely open all year round. 25. Down riggers don't really require any special rod or reel. Obviously you need a reel that will hold a fair amount of line but after that any thing will work. When I first started fishing I used open faced reel on my down riggers because that is what I had. They weren't perfect but they worked. Anyway a level wind reel with a 8 to 9 ft medium heavy rod is your best bet. Line counter reels don't really give you any advantage over a reel with out a line counter. You should always have more line out of the reel than what the downrigger cable shows. A rod with a long handle is best so your reel doesn't sit or bottom out on the rod holder. So I guess to answer your question yes if you plan to fish for kings you should buy a heavier duty set up and then leader down when fishing the smaller species of fish. Obviously when fighting a smaller fish there won't be as much fight in a heavy duty king set up. Hope this helped good luck. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
