    Has any body used one of the permanent mount sonarphone by vexilar I have seen and watched alot of videos on YouTube but was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with it now. Pretty neat idea especially now it can be combined with navonics and used with a tablet. Thanks.

    Fish 40 to 60 ft of water with small natural spoons over various depths. Bait fish are small and usally perch. Like stated before I've had luck on that lake with red and white also.     Yes it is a mercruiser 244 thanks for the input on the cables. I messed with the o of cable adjustment and did not have any improvement. Bigest problem I have is there is no marine mechanics anywhere near where I live. About a 1 he drive for parts or service. Also I'm pretty new to onboard out board. I understand car motors and do pretty well with out boards. So I try to combine the two. But things like lower shift cables I wouldn't have thought of. Thanks a lot for the response.     Good deal on the fish you caught. Those inland lakes can hold booth small and large fish. I would stick with the smaller spoons in natural colors. Also the fish maybe boat shy. Try some planer boards too. Also keeping your speed down probably helped a lot. I wouldn't be afraid to drop your leaders down to Like 8 to 10 lb fluro maybe even lighter.     I used to fish other inland lakes in that area but more in the Adirondacks. The water is berry brackish colored. I used to use lake clear wobblers in gold colors while trolling out of a canoue and also used streamers with a 3 way swivel with some weight to get me down deeper. In the fall the salmon would move to the sand bars to eat Brown trout eggs. They would hit anything flashy out of aggression. That is what I did in lake clear lake Colby and some of the lakes out that way when I lived there. Good luck.     I have a thompson 21 ftr. Got the boat at a decent price. I have not had the time to get it in the water this year but have been working on refurbing the boat. Anyway after rebuilding the Rochester carb the boat purrs like a kitten. However now I can't get it to Shift in to gear. It makes a ticking sound and then stalls the motor. Booth forward and reverce.     I lost a fish because of them north of AES 2 weeks ago. On a rigger rod. Only stuck to the 1 rod. Had 30 lb big game on it also. The weird thing is the dipsey rods stayed clear was running 50 lb braid on them.     Never lost a weight north of boy scout camp. Just bounce bottom troll deep then come in shallower till they bounce then head out deep again.     The east side of the lake was slower for me. I crossed over about a mile past shaldreck. And fished all the way back to AES. The water north of AES is where I lost the fish because of the fleas. Only hung on 1 rod. Not sure why either 40 lb big game line. But it plugged up the eyes on the pole. Line for slack and fish came off.     Just have seen you I was in cobalt blue center console. Small boat. White console. About an hour behind you. A starcraft islander launched right behind me and trolled past me in deeper water. Chaseing the suspended fish and didn't catch anything. He also got stopped by dec. I saw him back at the launch.     Fished out of Myers today. On the lake at 0730. Went and set up north around the boy scout camp. Fished all spoons dipseys at a 2 about 270 to 300 and riggers parked at 68 and 80. Went 4 for 8 but caught some real nice lake trout. Fish came on blue and silver spoons and fire tiger spoons. Screen was real good in 80 to 100 feet of water with fish right on the bottom. A lot of suspended fish in the 40 foot range out deep but seemed to have lock jaw. North tri produced well for us. Fished pad shaldreck and then back to AES on the east side. Lost 1 fish because of fleas plugging up the rod goods. Had a good day. Hot out. All fish were in the 7 to 12 lbs range. Thanks to all that post and and answer questions and share advice.
