The New Holland dc 55 is quite a tractor. I wouldn't get rid of it for anything. That tractor would give you the ability to do anything you wanted. However you shouldn't have any trouble trading down to a 35 hp Kubota or johndeer or even another New Holland. The only advice I can give you after working on tons of farms owning a treecare business and working on the woods pretty much my hole life is there is no subsatute for horse power and if you use something outside of its ability you are gonna break something. It may worn for a while but eventually it is going break. If you down size stay away from the home owner tractors. Example. Kubota b series. Go with. The L or M series. Better built and will take more abuse. I had a John deer 950 with a 5 ft brush hog on it that wasn't much wider than a 4 wheeler. Go any where with it. I don't own a pull behind mower but what I can tell you if the trails are in the woods a small tractors with a bush hog would be your best bet. Most pull behind mowers are just 4 wheeled push mowers with a trailer hitch. The blades are directly mounted to the drive shaft giving you the chance of bending the drive shaft on the motor If you got a stump or rock. For the price of a zero turn wich you said was a option you could buy a small used tractor with a brush hog and never regret the other uses you will get out of the tractor. Just my opinion. I own a zero turn and they are worthless on anything but level ground. Don't waste your time and money buy the right tool for the job. on the water at 0630 with what i thought was a fixed boat motor. ran strong and idled good at the dock so thought i was good to go. pulled out the shoot and tried to get up to speed and motor died. after drifting a while and messing with motor got it to run at low speed so decided to try to fish but stayed close to the park. fished the cove just north of Meyers park and marked a ton of fish at 40 feet over 60 foot of water. set 2 down riggers down 1 at 55 and 1 at 40. both running blue and silver spoons. then sent a 10 color lead line down the shoot. didn't take long and 55 rigger fired with no body home. reset rigger and kept heading north. fished to the high cliffs and turned around and headed south. then 40 rigger fires in almost same spot as before and get a nice little rainbow up to the boat and it shakes the hook. reset every thing and continue to fish back and forth in the same area and finally a nice laker hits the 50 rigger and i get this one to the boat. in the cooler that fish goes. all strikes were almost in the same spot on the lake didnt seem to matter which direction i was going. anyway boat started to act up and had to get back to the house. so not bad 1 shake off and 1 in the cooler. would love to have one of these 30 fish days everyone is talking about but im happy at least not getting skunked. Wish boat would run better but that will get fixed. thanks to all that posted giving me starting points. may try to get out again if i do i will be sure to post how i do. all spoosns that took fish were dream weavers with blue or green on them. cant remember the names of them all.

Ethoal free but this was first tank of the year. This has been My shake down. Got it home put new plugs in and pit some sea foam in the gas. Late start this morning but on the water by 0700. Motored directly to T falls and set up 2 riggers heading north. 45 and 50 foot. Trolled around the point and picked up nice laker bouncing bottom. Motor dies while bringing fish in. Get fish in and go to start motor and it won't run. Sit and try to get motor going and drift quite a ways north. Finally fellow fisherman sees me and pulls me back to Meyer's. Oh well yesterday couldn't buy a fish today can't get boat to coperate. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Went out of Myers this am aprox 0600 am. Motored north twards AES and set up in 50 foot of water. Fished north for about a hour and a half bouncing from 50 to 120 foot of water with out morning a rod. Parked rigger at 40 ran 2 divers out 1 at 110 the other at 150. Marked fish a 40 to 50 foot no matter what deapth I was in. Fished 1.8 to 2.2 gps nothing. Picked up about 0830 and moved across the lake to start fishing south. Set up near boy scout camp with good screens and fished south to T falls. Fish at 40 feet over 60 foot of water all the way past t falls park. Nothing would go. Had 4 short strikes on the rigger with no body home. Oh well maybe get out this week again. Maybe need to head farther north. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hey thanks darkwater. Dealling with a very sick family member plan on trying to get some fishing in to clear my head when not taking care of them. Nice to have a starting point.
