  1. Never thought of the wire. Figured the paddle would give it enough action. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. That is a lot what I was thinking similar to that but with out the meat head. Didn't think of that. Why did you remove the paddle tail. Always thought would add some turbulence for enticement. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Was a thought I've pondered. Price wise can't be beat. Seen some pretty interesting jig body's and All ways thought about it but never heard of anybody doing it. Salt water jig body's are bigger in size. Thinking about for salmon Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Have a odd question. I have pondered this a long time and have done it a couple of times with marginal results wondering has anybody ever trolled unwaited soft baits paddle tails. Any jig body's behind a flasher. Seems logical that it could be done Like cut bait/ trolled like a flasher fly. They come in so many sizes and shapes colors. Just seems like it could be another weapon for the arsenal Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I can add the j tube on the top end to elevate the chance of fire but I don't have it now so what is the point Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The major question for me is what is on it is early 80's late 70s. And doesn't have things like the j tube. I think a camaro carb of c 10 truck carb is what is on it. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Holy carbs are a big no no from what I've read. More apt to flood and possibly explode. I don't know just what I've read. The safest are edlebrock and quadra jet. Has a quadra jet now. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

If you look at the top f the carb in front of the front barrels you will see a j shaped pie that comes out on a "marine" carb. Auto motive one don't have it. The purpose is to put fuel back down to the carb if you flood the motor. Makes it a closed circuit of sorts. Make a carbworth about i t 100 dollars more for it to say marine with a that pipe. Looked at edlebrock carb. Most newer marine carbs have j tube for marine use. Mine does not. Niether so automotive carbs. Do I need a marine carb. Has not had one on and has not blown up. Only difference is the j tube. Can I put a automotive carb on a boat Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Any body have a quadrants carb off mercruiser 228. Older motor but runs like a top. Need a carb. Small block Chevy. Thanks Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Does it run. Like restoring old boats. Don't want to get in to a engine rebuild. If it runs might be interested. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    Bees

Wish I only had bee problems. Once had a mouse or some small rodent get up under the hood of my outboard. Some how I don't know how it did it but made a mess of all the wires. Chewed all the insulation off. Had to re do it all. Not fun. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. How did you make out Joe G. Just curious if you got problem solved Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Also tie the main line to the dipsy then run fluro from the dipsy to the spoon. Flasher what ever is behind the dipsy. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. There is a difference between wire dipsy set up and copper set up. Copper is intended to be flat lines like lead core. Only copper runs deeper than lead. Wire dipsys are stranded stainless steel much like a braided fishline. No stretch and dive harder and deeper than mono with the dipsy. I don't know if you could run a dipsy off a Coper rig the line is petty soft. Maybe you could run it off of lead line too never heard of it being done. Any. Way the wire will leave burs in normal fishing pole eyes increasing the chance of break offs. Lots of people use twilly tips instead of rollers. Don't know if this clears anything up for you. But wire dipsey s and copper aren't the same. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Use a single uni knot double the line threw the ring and then tie single uni knot. Never had one fail. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I agree with you on the risers being plugged. But I keep saying the pump housing for 2 reasons. 1 it's the cheapest place to start and should have been done when they changed the first impeller. And 2nd he is getting water to the motor at cruising speeds wich indicates that when under motion the pump is working to get water to the engine by using speed threw the water to help push the water threw out the system but at slower speeds it will not. I don't know if I explained this right. But my out board did the same thing last year. The muffs can presherize the system enough to actually by pass a bad water pump. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. You need to replace the whole pump not just the impeller. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I still believe the problem is in your pump housing. If you pull that pump again and your impeller is all chewed up you have a bad spot in the housing. I did the same thing 3 times last year before I replaced the housing and that finally fixed the problem. Sent from my LG-D800 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
