I have had water in my Targa but not all the time and it is so inconsistent I have not been able to determine any reason at all. Most of the time it stays perfectly dry. I ended up switching out the bilge pump for one with an automatic float and now I can just turn the switch on and leave it and it will pump out whenever necessary. When I set up last year my first thought was to use the versa track. I spent the money for some good brackets and when I got the first downrigger set up It looked so weak and sketchy that I didn’t even try it. My riggers are through the gunnel with a solid backplate that extends from rod locker in gunnel all the way back to transom. Yes you do have to get some new hardware and remount the rear cleats. 9.9 Pro Kicker is on stand in garage instead of on boat. Have to purchase controls for it. A couple other questions that I could use some help with. What brand/ type of auxiliary steering control bar works best to connect to main motor and how long. Lots of options out there hard know where to start. Second question is the fuel. Can I just splice a t into the fuel line going to the main motor? Want to get on boat as soon as possible but also hope not to get stuck with boat out of water too long. Time for LOU to file Lawsuit-Ramps closed
Brad Hoffee replied to garrymny's topic in Open Lake Discussion
What a tease! Docks start to go in and launches get closed! Like so many other times that the government steps in to decide what is right for everyone it comes down to people not being trusted to make good decisions. We all pay the price. For most, fishing daily is probably more safe than a bimonthly trip for groceries. I don’t like it but no way going to take any chance on getting written a possible 4 figure ticket. Stay home for a couple weeks! Maybe we can all get back out in May. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

I have noticed the same difference and stick with the fishhawk speed. Just came back from the Oak myself. Early bite for me was mostly Black/Silver Rapala, then switched more to brighter colors. Was a little surprised today only got one on Gobbie Bay Rat it has been hot. Bite changed late morning with several short hits and we lost 3 in a row. Finished up 10/15. Anxious for them to go in. Install may be suspended due to “social distancing “. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

We take ours to the lake often and have to hold them tight to keep them from jumping out of truck and racing to the water. Once in it is difficult to get them out. In-laws live on the lake shore and years ago I tried to leave my Golden behind. Was headed north in 100’ of water when I had to turn back and pick her up. Got a chance to get the boat wet. Trolled west with limited action on sticks. 5-7 total, two on bronze/orange xrap, two on gobie bay rat and one on fire tiger husky jerk. Found some 40 degree water and good color. Great to get out and make sure everything is ready to go. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

It looks like I will have to wait and see if I leave the 60” I have now will work well raised up 3”. Would not be good to drop that kind of money on a new one to end up being too short. Maybe they will offer a longer shaft but from what I have read they aren’t going to spread out to offer too many options. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
