Thanks. How close to the bottom would you fish?

My wife and I will be fishing out of the oak late next week. We would like to catch a few browns. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Brian

Where are you located? If you are near Erie PA, I have a 9.5' Wilderness I would give you.

I have a pre bluetooth one I may consider letting go if the price is right.

40 to 50 lb for me. I'm currently running suffix.

Arrived at first light for my first time at the oak. Trolled 30 to 70 fow until 9:45 with only 2 lakers. Decided to try skinny water for browns. Ran 7-14 fow with shallow sticks and spoons. We ended up with a laker, a brown, and a king about 15 pounds. The king was quite the fight on 10 pound line. Out of the spread, an F7 Rapala in firetiger accounted for all fish landed. Thanks to benfolkhero from LOU for sharing information with me. Guys like him are what this site is about.

Usually, later in the year I'm running 2.5 to 2.9 mph. What speed have you found is best for spoons this early? Thanks. Brian

For me, it depends on how deep i want to be. If i want to be shallower, i will clip the board of right after the leadcore. Deeper, ill add 50 feet. Deeper yet, I'll add weight between the core and leader then let out 50 of backing then clip the board.....
