  1. I keep seeing pics of people catching keeper walleye at lock 30. Any info on areas or baits to use? I don't want secret spots, just a general location and type of bait to get me moving in the right direction. Thanks
  2. I have 30 pound floro. When I checked the rest if my leaders I felt nicks. Probably when I take them off the boat and out the rods in the garage I'm nicking them. I have all new leaders and looking exactly where I put the rods to see what I'm doing wrong.
  3. A humbling day for me. Had a decent high teens maybe low 20 king break of my entire meat rig 20 feet from the boat. Reset and had another high teans break the line to the meat head 20feet behind the boat. I was in 100feet, mag dipseys out 120 and 150.
  4. I spent 20 years in the Navy on a few different subs. They should have had a gyroscope as their underwater version of a GPS but chose to navigate strictly by text...wth is that all about?. Aslo, they also were employing and underwater comms system via text....not sure how this was thought to be a good idea since changing salinity and temp affects the way sound travels. The use of game controllers isn't totally out of the realm of possibility. They are basically radio controlle servos...they work great when operating a properly designed system. God speed to the crew and their families.
  5. Ahhhhhh...got it. I was going nuts. Thank you
  6. I guess I don't understand what "100ws goes to 200" means. Not trying to be an ass, I'm trying to learn. Thank you!!
  7. Are you saying 200ft weighted steel gets you 100ft down?
  8. Same here. Cowbells and gambler rigs usually last resort but my sons friend never fished the lake and I wanted to make sure he got some action so I had one in the water for him.
  9. I had full screens in 110 all morning out of bear creek heading west. 4 knockdowns on riggers 65 over 110 on a green jeans and fat Nancy stingers. Meat did nothing on dipseys 150 out. We managed 3 lakers on gambler rigs for my son's buddy, but other than that lots of misses.
  10. Smiles on kids faces holding big fish...never gets old. Great job.
  11. On the water first light. Set up in 90 in a westerly troll. Set mag divers at 95 and 105. Both with spoons. 10 color with a perch stinger pattern, 5 color with a mixed veggies stinger and both riggers with gambler rigs. Not 5 min later and landed first of 6 kings on the morning on the dipsey. 30 min later doubled on kings both on dipaeys. Gambler rigs were getting action and doubled on lakers. For the first hour and a half I couldn't keep rods in the water. We ended the morning with 6 kings and 6 lakers, one of which my son entered in the LOC. The kings ranged from 14 to 10 pounds. We stayed in 90 to 100 all morning, off the water at 10 to get to honey do list done. Awesome morning. The pic is the spoon that took 3 kings and a laker...I cant remember the color.
  12. The guardian system on my outboard did the same thing...it was a clogged fuel filter.
  13. I have a 12v Terrova with a single battery and I can go 6 hours using it the same way you described. I also want to run 2 in parallel for run time and assurance I have the propulsion if I need it.
  14. Would it interfere with the humingird transducer? I have an 18ft, so not alot of room to work with.
  15. I just bought a Livescope bundle for ice fishing with the lvs34 probe. I have a pole for trolling and plan on using it in my rail system. I've read alot about using a ps30 probe for salmon trolling due to the 40degree cone angle. Question is...can I just swap the probes so I can use the 40 degree ps30 probe trolling salmon and the keep 20 degree lvs34 for walleye and ice.... or do I need some sort of additional black box. Hoping it's just a plug and play type thing.
  16. Where can we find the patterns? And where did you get the glow vinyl? My wife can only find standard colors.
  17. I saw the same out of bear creek yesterday afternoon. We did catch a 14 pound laker on RV green jeans on a rigger 90 over 200. We didn't expect that at all.
  18. They sunk like a rock in the pool, so I took the weight off the original keel. They are a little saggy in the ass, but float pretty well. Well see how they work Saturday
  19. I read where some guys had keels made from thin sheet steel or aluminum. The ones I had made are stainless and heavy as hell without a weight. I'm wondering if that will make the boats sink and if I should remove the weight from the factory keel. We shall see...tonight I'll take them out and give them a whirl.
  20. Thank you. I hadn't considered replacing the tow line. I had a set made by a buddy out of stainless. They seem awfully heavy without the weight. If I need to ill take the weight of the factory keel.
  21. I read some past posts from years back about ordering a second half weight keel. I'm interested in doing this, or making some. Question is, do the keels need to be parallel. I'm assuming yes, since opposing keel angles would be pointless. On my boats the 2 sets of mounting holes are not parallel. So, when ordering the second keel will the mounting holes be drilled to offset the second keel to keep them parallel?
