A few days ago the handheld remote control of my Garmin Reactor 40 Auto pilot went dead .It was registered at Garmin so I called them and the customer service person explained to me that they need a a receipt with date of purchase, which of course I had lost. Remembering that I had bought it from the GPS store I called them and within 5 minutes they emailed me the receipt . I called Garmin back and because I am electronically challenged they helped me taking a picture of the receipt and transferring it to them.  Even though the warranty time had expired by almost 2 months they offered to replace the unit free of cost and paid for the mailing costs.

I walked away feeling that between the GPS store and Garmin, I was very lucky to have chosen them because of their excellent customer care. Sometimes paying an extra 10 dollars to a reputable supplier, instead of picking the cheapest possible, pays off big time.
