If the weather holds we'll be out, otherwise we'll sleep in and try the evening bite.

No fishing this afternoon...instead we went on a hike to Chimney Bluffs State Park. A real neat hike along the lake, then through the woods, then along the chimney bluffs cliffs.

The park entrance..

The trail starts off as a paved path and goes all the way to the lake, good for kids and their are picnic spots with grills.

Notice the no swimming signs, no it's not enforced lol...

Then the trail cuts through the woods and becomes a bit of a tough uphill rugged trail with lots of fallen trees to go under and over..

At the top of the hill you get to the real gem, the chimney bluffs...

There is also a ton of nature to enjoy... The one field must have had 25 of those real big dragonflies in it, just gorgeous! Also met this guy on the path...

Can you see me?

Nice pictures of the bluffs Nick. Back a few years ago, before the park was developed, there was only a narrow dirt path that led to the section of the beach where that 'no swimming' sign is now. It was known as 'Bare A$$ Beach' (for obvious reasons)!

Evidently, the fishing used to be really good real close to shore there, because the fishermen used to troll real close with binoculars!! Some weren't even fishing!!
