We were greeted with a stiff NW wind in the AM and it made for a bit of a bumpy ride but we gave it a shot. Set up a 6 rod spread in 80 fow with a decent screen but couldn't get them to go. We trolled north without moving a rod until we were over 500 fow. We found some fish out there and would land 3 nice steelhead and two kings before my buddy had to be back to the dock by noon. 35' rigger took 3 of the fish with the other two coming in a 300 copper and a 10 color core. The fleas were brutal and were covering everything, lines, cables, releases, even the hooks on our spoons and flies were covered.

I feel for ya on the fleas - had the same conditions last week.  Even had them on the rigger cables and connections to the weights and probe.  We did the same as you on 8/1 with about the same results.  Good job on finding some fish though.  We don't fish coppers, but shallow riggers and cores have been doing the job for us too.
