  Anyone have any experience with the octopus r type drive for an auto pilot drive. Woundering what the advantages are over the helm drive. looking to put auto pilot on my 2000 penn yan with cable steering with power assist . can only find 2 options the octopus drive or the helm. looks like the octopus costs a lot more. 

 Can the octopus drive the motor and a kicker with the main motor off and no power assist?
