The Bar and Lake Erie ice condition

Ice is on the south shore off Hamburg where open water is a half mile off shore. The open water is over a mile off shore the Town of Evans. This means warmer water out of the Niagara River and Welland Canal systems.

With sixty mile per hour winds predicted soon expect that the Lake Erie ice field will move to the ice boom and blow over it to fill the Niagara River with ice and cold water.
