Oswego, Wayne, and Cayuga counties along with GS Steamers Bar & Grill of Oswego will sponsor a new style competitive fishing event. The Tri-County Salmon Slam coordinated by Oswego’s Tom Allen.

This event entails weighing your seven biggest Salmon taken from these three counties, this out of a 15 day period spanning from July 4th to July 22nd. Anglers can weigh as many fish as they want daily or over the allotted time frame.

Winners will split a total of $5,500.00. This event is run in conjunction with the LOC Derby, The Oswego Pro/Am and the Sodus Pro/Am.

Sixty-five teams have entered and Allen’s expectations for this event's first year have been surpassed.

Weigh stations consist of Krenzer Marine in Sodus, Screwy Louie’s in Fair Haven, two locations in Oswego at Gibby’s Irish Pub and Oswego Marina east side, also Woody’s Tackle of Port Ontario. Weigh station hours vary and are in line with these business's normal hours.

So far many fish have come to the scales from various ports within these three counties…. entries are still being taken.

For more information, call Allen at 315-402-9055 or email at [email protected].
