  1. Take the day off Mark! You deserve it - Happy Birthday Buddy
  2. First I should say that it was a pleasure to finally put some faces to the names on LOU. I got a chance to meet a bunch of LOU members at the tournament and they are all first class fisherman! Kudos to Captain Larry Jones and Captain Mike Sperry for putting on a great seminar and overall very successful tournament. As Lee mentioned, both Larry and Mike are very forthright with any questions you might have and this is a very rare thing to find not only in the musky world but any species of fish! As for the tournament itself, it was a tough day of fishing. From what I heard, only 25 fish were caught all day – the cold front and blue bird skies really turned off the bite for many. We ended up getting two fish that day and another one the next morning. The fish measured 36â€, 36†and 32†respectfully. This was also my father’s first ever musky – so he was thrilled. Me with the smallest of the bunch My father with his first ever Musky! Joe with his musky. Caught this guy on the same line Lee was fishing. Finally found some bait and it wasn't 5 minutes after I told Joe "This is starting to look good" that the rod went off Here is a picture of the winning fish caught by a gentleman named Lance from PA. The fish was caught in the northern basin of the lake in 12 feet of water and measured a cool 47.5" - Sweet! Hopefully I will have a chance to make it back up there again before the years end. Thanks again to Larry for putting on a great even and the Happy Hooker Bait Shop for hosting it and helping fill my tackle box
  3. John - Happy Birthday sir! Hope you get some good fishing related birthday presents! Chad
  4. Welcome aboard Triple Dub! Glad you found us
  5. Happy Birthday Mr. Hank
  6. Hahah - glad you guys all liked it and finally got a chance to see that and YES there is a 2009 video in the works already! Basically I grab a bunch of images over the course of the year from the fishing photos forum and use those. I mix them to some good songs so let me know if you have any recommendations for the songs to use this year for the 2009 LOU Video. Thanks again for the kind words Chad
  7. Lee - I am going to my best to get there on time. I have a golf tournament Friday morning and was hoping to get out of there by 4:00pm. Its about a 3 hour ride for me from the course so I might be a little late but should be there. Have to pick up my father on the way down as well. My good friend Joe Dolan will be there on time though. We should have a good LOU representation there and I am looking forward to meeting everyone Should be a good time and the weather looks nice! Chad PS - if you play that video back and watch the top right corner of the screen when the musky hits, you can see the fish come clear out of the water! Pretty sweet and I didn't catch that until my third time watching the video
  8. This is a pretty cool video. Basically its a news channel down in the Green Bay area doing a report about Musky fishing "Live on the scene". The news caster is talking about how to catch muskies trolling when all of the sudden....... Cool!
  9. Great looking fish Mike! Thanks for the report - I was up fishing Pike in the 1000 islands early this year (May) and had some success but nothing as big as yours! Congrats!
  10. Hahah - that is sweet Jason! What a blast that much be on spinning gear in the open lake
  11. Same goes for me as well Tony. I have a golf tournament on Friday in Rochester and requested the earliest tee time so that I could get down to Chautauqua ASAP following the golf tourney. Hopefully I can make it in time to be present for the door prizes...
  12. I'm speechless... OMG! What was the winning LOC Brown this year? I thought it was 14 lbs. So this brown was the same except reverse the numbers..... wowowow!
  13. Yoda - Sorry for the confusion. The forum here was setup for LOU Members to talk about current hunting equipment and give reviews/feedback based on their experiences. It is not a forum for posting guns/ammo for sale as that is prohibited on this site due to the complex legalities surrounding this. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Chad
  14. Way to go Nothing like putting that first ever musky in the boat. Sounds like you guys had a good program going there - maybe you consider getting into the Chautauqua tournament coming up We could always use another LOU member! Congrats again guys!
  15. Wow guys - what a day! Way to represent LOU - Congrats!
  16. Wow - talk about real time reporting! That post was make like 10 minutes after I caught the fish! 90 foot of water off the Oak down 80 on a gator. Katie did a good job with the net Had 3 more hits after that guy but missed them all Went to captain's cove right afterwards and bought a couple hook sharpening files! The one king bent up my spoon pretty good - but I find few things cooler in life then fighting big fish from really small boats! Heheh! Called it quits around 10:00 so I could be back to the cottage for a Fantasy Football draft - wish I could have stayed out longer. I'll try again tomorrow. Oh and by the way, went out with Jerry and Jason last night and couldn't get a hit for the life of us (good move staying home last night Pa!). Screen wasn't that impressive either. Definitely looked much better down here at the Oak than down the road at Sandy.
  17. Welcome to LOU Chris! Glad to have you aboard. Lots of good information here that should help you put some more fish in the boat trolling. Use the search feature (link at the top of the site) to search for something specific and I am sure you will find it. Enjoy and welcome to LOU Chad

  19. Mike - Check out the musky, pike and walleye forum for LOTS of info on getting muskies out of Chautauqua. The tournament should be fun so be sure to register yourself on the LOU calendar event for that tournament so we get a good idea of who is going to the event from LOU! Here is the link: Musk Forum: viewforum.php?f=7 Chautauqua Musky Tournament Event: calendar.php?view=event&calEid=116
