  1. Yo,...Rat. I'm working tomorrow but planning on fishing Sunday. Could you give us a little State of the Lake report? Thanks
  2. I know. ...it's kinda like the new NYS license plates,... right?
  3. Now your talkin' . Just the ticket to haul the marina I want to launch my boat at.
  4. @ $75.00 a ticket for "More than 2 Lines" (I speek from experience) , it would be a lot cheaper to buy a couple stamps at 10 bucks each to run extra lines. You spend $10 for a chance to get a Doe tag and that's on a lottery system. .....and besides. I'm not putting any ideas in Albany's head......They are waaay ahead of us when it comes to ways to levy fees thank you vary much.
  5. Thanks for all the feed back guys. I felt that I’d get real world info that I wouldn’t see elsewhere. Some of the stuff I knew already but I needed to hear it from someone else and most is new stuff to me. The heads up that Has Been posted was pretty interesting. I watched all the videos Ford had on their site about the Eco-Boost engine. Great production and the audio was amazing in surround sound. Made me want to run out and buy one,......but not today. Pretty pricy. We’ll have to give it some time to prove itself. Thanks H B. I agree with the consensus that the payment book or the higher price for diesel fuel & additives will quickly erode any savings in higher MPG. Both my vehicles are paid for, (also `08 Explorer V6 195 hp) and get the same milage while towing but I may be forced into giving up the van within the year so that is why I’m starting to look for a replacement. Thanks for the input so far.
  6. ....how about a $10.00 stamp for each additional line? That will get their attention and few more bucks.
  7. Well I'm toying around with investing in a new tow vehicle. My boat is a 19' glass hardtop on a tandem axle trailer weighing 4600+ lbs total that I usually pull 160 to 220 miles round trip. Presently I have a Ford 2001, E-250 5.4L (330 cid) using regular gas w/extended wheel base pulling that boat & trailer and average 11 mpg. I would like to find something that would be a little more efficient and boost my average mpg. I’m not sold on any particular truck (van, SUV, pickup, etc) to replace the van. Better efficiency is primary and utility is secondary. I wanted to check in with you guys to see if you have something I should check out. Your actual usage and experience is what I’m looking for. Thanks for any info. I feel my best shot at good info will come from my brothers of the lodge , not some propaganda that the manufactures try to pawn off on us.
  8. They can be caught in Oneida Lake. We catch them while trolling for walleye even though we don't target them. Fun fish to catch even though we throw them back,...good fight.
  9. Every time I read this topic I get frosted Sean . Yamaha may have gotten another $6,100.00 out of you but they lost THOUSANDS from us little guys. Even if they make things right with you now after all the negative press the $6100.00 is going to be a drop in the bucket. It is far cheaper to keep a good customer than what it costs to advertise to get new ones. Especially to overcome the negative effects of the hassle they are giving you in this down economy. I wonder if they would have the gonads to give their side of the story in this forum? OK, now it's time to go FISH. Good luck with the new power head.
  10. Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA 1270 Chastain Road Kennesaw, GA 30144 Sales, marketing and distribution of Outboard Motors. Outboard Customer Relations Exclusively for Outboards (866) 894-1626 ...how in the world did that ^^^ info end up in my post
  11. Something isn't right with that picture. Yamaha needs their gonads twisted `till they say uncle. Us weekend warriors will put 100 hours on a engine in short order and that failure has nothing to do with a "Charter" boat. Sean,...send them a link to LOU and mention just how many potential customers are seeing this. Also one more thought. Will Owasco Marine work something out with you on a loaner or rental engine to get you back on the water until this is all straightened out?
  12. RAY is back,.......I've tried that but it's embarrasing when I have guests on my boat. In all seriousness, I would rather be able to track my `rigger balls than see fish or bait at 30 mph. I'm afraid to make the change just to find out that I lost the ability to track balls while trolling.
  13. Can you track your balls ( ) while trolling with the thru hull ducer?
  14. Frisco, I do have an electric one that I got at the Watkins Glen flea market but I'm having trouble getting some parts. If I can get it to run I'll add it to the spread later this year but first I have to perfect this copper line technique. I may have to remove 2 of my riggers to clear the back. Any tips would be appreciated.
  15. Need some help matching up a rod for my new copper reel.... .....if I'm going to get in on this I want to have the biggest, badest rig on the fingers. Once I get this set up I'll need some tips on how to fish it. Thanks for any input....
  16. Beautiful fish. I know that shaking feeling. Your worthless for a half hour till you get your composure back. Congratulations
  17. Like Lil' Troller said,...it was a good day. Plenty of good quality Lake Trout to be had. No silver fish yet but they'll be up there in a few weeks. I went straight down to the 100' to 120' over 140' to 160' once I targeted lakers and wasn't disappointed. Took fish on dodger/flies and plugs, rigger & wire dip. All went back in good shape. Nice to meet Lil' Troller & Quality Time. Hope to see you out there again.
  18. .....they haven't passed it yet and I'm still using my unlimited line permit. I just want to see if I can fish all day with only 3 lines and not get bored.
  19. Well Andy,.....how did you do? I finally got my boat out of the barn. Will be splashing him up there Sunday. I'll be working on my technique in anticipation of the new 3 rod rule.
  20. google http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... CUQ8wIwAg#
  21. ....like I said , "there is always a trade-off".
  22. Half the fun in fishing is the wishful thinking. There is always a trade-off with boats but here is one that may be a good place to start. http://www.arimaboats.com/sp21fostandard.htm
  23. I agree..... Killing one spawning bow in the tribs will take out more fish than the 3 rods per person on my boat will take all season.
