I think you should put a block on him until you get back Good luck down there I sent those fish back in a westerly direction for ya. -
Did the solo trip today :x. Hit the water at 6am and headed north to 110fow and set up there. Put out the wire 160 out on#2 with a A-TOM-MIK 42nd spinny/fly set up and found out why they call it the "40 second" I no sooner set that and was putting my probe and ball on to my rigger and the wire flies   I couldn't exactly drop the probe and ball so I set it to the side grab the rod and in seconds gone . Didn't seem big at all it was really wasn't taking the line all that much. Reset that out again and got the rigger set and the wire goes again, only this time I land it and again not very big maybe 5lbs  . Stayed inside the 150' mark and got 2 small steelies on a 42nd spoon down 83 over 135 and one on a Stinger NBK down 52 over 130 both about 5 minutes apart. Heard on the radio that a guy "couldn't keep his lines in the water" in 80fow so I trolled that way. Got in there and couldn't get a release so I ventured back out to the 130 mark and no sooner got there and got another king about 12lbs on the 42nd spoon down 63ft. Lost one at 150ft that hit, came up and gone as soon as I saw it's fins in the distance  Trolled for awhile in that area then I decided it was time to head in so I trolled back towards sandy got a decent king of about 17-18lbs on the 42nd spoon again      . 109fow down 65ft. This one stayed down the entire time taking some line but not coming up until he was right behind the boat. Love those ones :!: He was accompanied by a nice ugly lampray of about a foot long  He's no longer with us but the king is out there waiting to be caught again. Weird day, some fish were in the 65 degree temps :?: . Watching water spouts evolve in the distance and seeing some start then go back in :? then a full moon was starting to come out at 11:30am from an area on Jax's boat     Finished 5 of 9 and had a fun, safe day in beautiful weather and other than the 2 fish the only thing I lost was my cleaning sponge. Hope to get out a couple of days in the derby this week if I can find a partner before leaving for a week in NC to see my grandchildren. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN THE DERBY!

Frustrated in Fair Haven
FISHINMAN replied to Billy V's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Billy remember that topic way back when? What did I tell ya :?: Just kidding, hopefully you'll get a bunch of the big fellas soon down there. With that said how much of this (not as many big fish 20+lb's) being caught lake wide it seems compared to past years, do you attribute to all the fish being taken out of the lake with "ALL" the tournaments being done :?: Seems like there's some sort of tournament going on every week now somewhere  :x. There's a lot of fish being taken out of the lake every week it seems for these tournaments and that's all on top of the general fish taking from rec. boat's and of course charters too. With less salmon being stocked now too I hope it doesn't get worse in the future  -
It's the Raiders!!!! Knuckle Head  You could never sell a Bills hat! So you just use it to wipe your A#$hole after a good healthy dump What hat was it? Was it that silly "Tubeless Tire" hat? If so I can understand why you owe the guy $$ and I'll pay you the $$ you owe At least it wasn't my black L.O.U. original hat because that's a collectors item

Not always Brian (just kidding) Not very big maybe 4#.. Mark it's always a gas especially solo and without auto pilot and a bit of breeze. My nets all goofed up too, it won't open the last 5 inches or so for some reason (and that can be huge at times) I need to pull it apart.

30lb big game but I had my slider on 15#. I ran out of my Seagur 20# and the 2 places I went (West Marine and Mitchells were both out of it :x ) I have used that in the past without a problem. Must have just had a nick in it or that toothy critter gobbled it  Not a knot problem it was broke off. -
As many of you know had lost my camera at the Niagara Pro Am or that I had left it in Ray K's boat. Well here I am motoring in today and my tackle bag that has my MAG spoons in it, falls off the seat and low and behold there is my camera falling out of it     . I don't know how he did it but Ray must have been coming home from his walleye trip in "Barcelona Erie/Spain" and must have snuck in my garage and put it in my bag. He claims to not have known where I live but I have evidence to him being there. Here's the evidence: Plummers parts, tools and pipes that fell out of his van!! And a pair of womens stocking stuck on the door and panties on my boat trailer!! I say guilty, guilty, guilty  What a dope I am, dang camera in my bag all this time!!

Did a solo trip this morning from 7:30 to 1pm. Set up at 275fow and headed north. Did not mark a fish until 430ft. Set the riggers at 65ft and got a nice king to tear a#% at 445ft. 18-20lber that was the darkest king I have gotten this year. Stinger NBK 28 size. Started to set lines again and when I was looking for a lure had the rigger pop straight up. Small king that didn't fight much until it got behind the boat then it was jump time. Same set up as first king. Stayed out there for a while and got the wire to fire once but lost it :x I had just taken a Atomic green crinkle fly behind a green e-chip flasher off and put on a Hammer fly and had let the line out to 140ft well it started to creep a little to fast after I sat down so I went to tighten the drag a bit and as I touched the pole the wire ripped  Had a guy tell me he was in 90ft of water and doing well on the steelies so I picked up and ventured into there. Slide back out a bit to 125fow and had the rigger just get crushed :!: That was probably the best hit I have had all year and it just screwed. Hit the 42nd spoon on the slider on the 55ft rigger but unfortunately I had it break off in a matter of 1 minute or so. Broke off just a few inches up from the lure . That one really pissed me off :x :x :x :x :x :x :x , it was a good king and I get very very very few break offs during the fishing season and that's 2 in the last 2 trips out (wire last time) That was the last hit for me as it was getting bumpy.

Today was "predicted" to have southwest winds 4-6mph and 0-1ft waves  well how does east at like 15mph or more grab ya with 2-3 footers :x when I came off. Wasn't sea sick water but it made for a fun day to try and fish solo  :x and go back to Sandy creek from the west from like almost 2 miles . It made for little bumpy ride back.

Rob I was experiencing the same type of thing today. The speed would go off completely but temp would stay fine for a wile then I would go back and wiggle/squeeze the plug/jack that comes off the antenna cable and it would go right back on. That's where I would start maybe the jack is bad or got rusty a little. Just my 2 cents on it. Good luck :!:

Ray try fishing Erie not Spain next time

Check with Jay-Vee tackle on Norton Street near Portland Ave. I know they have a guy that does reel repairs.
