A skippy and a 2 yo salmon for us this morning derby fishing. 150 fow, spoons on coppers.

Here’s my hero report today. 1-2 with a decent brown and they wanted to come in early it was so good. Many good fishermen out there today that struggled. Long way to go to be set up again and when it does, it will get blown out with another East blow like 14 American bunker buster bombs on Iran. It sucks out there, but imma do it again tomorrow with a different plan.

240-300ish was best for us. Lost way more fish than we boated, but things are looking up till the next NE blow…..

Bought 7 rigs a year ago from an out of state company and found 3 different lengths. It’s like they didn’t even try to make them all the same. Wasn’t even close and I’m now back to making them myself.

Not sure if this is correct or not, but thought I had heard them say that the new strain was harder to catch.

I put 30# mono on first then the wire to fill it. It’s not fully filled if you don’t and you may get incorrect line counter readings. Btw, I have no clue how much mono I put on. Sorry.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’ve lost one weight in the last 12ish years and that was because my bottom tracking malfunctioned one day fishing lakers and didn’t know a kink was put into the wire. The next day I put it in the water to start fishing and gone it went with the probe. Bottom line, it’s usually user error with the wire.

Gator and I finally got my boat on the lake this afternoon and everything worked as it should, except for the 4 Rapala he picked out for the quick 45 min troll on the beach…….

Nope, but there are “some” years that the afternoon bite is better than the morning one. On evening trips I’m quicker to run or troll out to deeper waters and then finish inside.
