  1. IMO, no need for different test leaders. We don’t have 30# salmon running 700’ of line out anymore. I use 25# blue label for everything. I don’t break it and I still catch tons of browns with it.
  2. On my boat, fish hits I grab the rod, reel in slack and make sure the fish is still on. Then I hand it off. I probably don’t have that rod in my hand more than 5 seconds most times. It doesn’t seem right to hold the rod for any longer. I also don’t race to get everyone there limit. If the fishing is great, I have less rods out. My 2 cents…
  3. I don’t think it’s a widespread issue. My flasher bites this summer have been pretty solid. Today had a paddle/meat rig on a 350 copper that maybe went 5 times and lost one due to bites off and a paddle/fly on a diver that went maybe 7 times and I can’t remember if we even lost one on that. Now I just jinxed myself for the morning…..
  4. We were wondering how you did in there. We kept going NW and put a hurtin on them 230-330ish.
  5. If they don’t sell I’ll take all of both lots instead of just the 6.
  6. If you’d break up, I’d give you $60 for the left 3 in both lots.
  7. No, he has those blue paper towels…….
  8. Forget toilet paper….
  9. And maybe someone or some kid will take a spill and go down hard, then sue the s$/t out of Hamlin. Then just maybe it will be a little more important than changing the mulch at town hall….
  10. “Boooooo”. Ok, that was funny. I thought we were at a game or something.
  11. Border patrol used to sit in the overflow parking lot but haven’t seen them in a long time. Maybe if someone knows someone there, they could ask them to sit there while working overnights sometime.
  12. About every other year or so, we get new knives. I’ve never ever worked with a sh1t7y knife from them.
  13. Cutco and if they don’t sharpen it, it’s replaced for free.
  14. Mark it every 100’ and you can fish it shorter.
  15. I tried the cell and it didn’t work. I wear lightweight pants that the legs zip off if I want shorts. I never do it because they are really not that warm. They work great. I haven’t worn shorts on the lake for years with these light pants.
  16. Maybe, but if he were doing better he may of stayed. Just pointing out why it turned out the way it did, but wtf do I know I’ve only been in the creek for 40 years….
  17. Let’s just say the previous owner didn’t do himself many favors in trying to get the most out of that marina. Constantly looking over everyone’s shoulder, tuning electric off to boats, using boat trailers w/o permission for hauling crap, screwing us on the gas, screwing the pen project and I’m sure there’s more I’m not thinking of….. $65/foot isn’t horrible. That would put me at $1670 and that’s lower than any marina that I know of outside of Sandy. At Tommy’s and Franks we have water issues most years and another perk other than the price is we are allowed to hang out at the picnic table to talk about fishing and Gators rubber toys in his boat……
  18. That cut through to the marina should be trimmed. Not sure any fishing boat would want to donate rods to the trees. Jerry and I used to do it on occasion. It’s definitely not as easy as it looks. I’d bet we all wish him well as having a small businesses in NY are tough to begin with…. Billy, you should come to “craft night” at the marina sometime. We go eat ice cream like little kids at Kronys afterwards…
  19. And the suction rubber toys in Keith’s boat were not my idea…..
