  1. Very nice pictures as always Mark...A big well done to you and the rest of team Flat Out on your 9th place finish...Also, since you affiliated me with High Voltage I appreciate you saying I just fished the boat and am not the driver even though I had to pull double duty on Sunday for a while...
  2. Figure I try a daily special... Anyone who picks the lures up today will get them for a buck a piece in the lot or 300 for everything...I'll be running around today so my digits are (585) 801-9121...
  3. Bump...Spoon lot price is now $250, and is now $175 for the stick-baits...Will also entertain any reasonable offers...
  4. Still trying to get rid of these lures... Will reduce the price to $300 for the spoons and $200 for the stickbaits...
  5. Welcome to the board Fratman...Here are some of my suggestions and i'm sure other's will add on... I would suggest trying in shallower water's than you have been especially if you want browns...I would fish the 5-15 range with emphasis on keeping the boat in 6-8, dirtier water I get closer, clearer waters will have me stray out a little deeper if I dont pull anything out of the shallows... Since your fishing out of Irondequoit, Shipbuilders is a good area and further down past Hedges, around the Genesee River and pier heads, and the pink house on the hill west of Russell Station to Crescent Beach are all good areas to focus on but there are fish here and there along the entire shore-line...I've had some great days just circling the west corner of the Irondequoit Bay pier... Run your riggers an average of 3-5 down if your trolling in-tight to shore with a lead length of an average of 50 feet and lengthen depending on water clarity and fish spookiness...Also, when running a full spread where I have 3-4 riggers in the water, one will always be the "17" rig...Meaning down 7 back 10, or down 10 back 7...Some fish dont spook from the boat and i've caught fish that hit a lure next to the boat while I was watching the action with less than 10 feet of line out...Dirty water you can get away with a larger, brighter spoon but the clearer it becomes you usually have to go to natural colors and smaller baits... Top-Lines...I'm not sure if your running planer boards and if you are'nt your cutting your success by a huge margin...The boards just pull your lines out to the side where the fish that have been spooked by the boat will be...For these lines I will start them 100' back if the water has a decent color to it...If its clear, i'll start with 150' back...I am not a rattle fan, and if the water is dirty I like jointed baits as they put out more vibration...Again you can use bigger, brighter, jointed baits when the water is dirty...If its clear, I prefer straight sticks as they make less noise in the water and try them in natural colors... These are just some simple guide-lines that i hope will help you connect with a few fish the next time your out...Good Luck...
  6. Shipbuilder's Creek is basically the 1st point headed East from Irondequoit Bay...
  7. A week or so ago at the south end of Irondequoit Bay people were doing rather well on bullheads...One of the guys I know caught 75 one day...Not sure how its been lately...
  8. Bump up the page...Cant get pictures up here and I am dropping the spoon and stickbait lot price by 50 bucks... New price is $350 for the spoons, and $250 for the stickbaits...
  9. Just bumping the message up the page...Also, I am working on getting pictures put up to help you guys see what there is to offer...Any guys local or willing to take a ride to the boat launch at the north end of Irondequoit Bay can take a look at these lures if they'd like...
  10. A friend of mine has gone through his gear and given me a bunch of things to sell for him as he does'nt have the time...So, here's what he has and what I was asked to acquire for them... 200 spoons in a lot...They include NK's, Stinger, Pirate, Evil-Eye, Honeybee, R&R, and a lot of others...2 bucks a piece equals $400, there are more than 200, probably another 20 or so...I just counted to 200 and said close enough... 158 stickbaits in a lot...They include rebel, bomber, rapala, challenger, grandma, thunderstick and some more no longer mades and weirdo's...Going with around 2 bucks a piece, $300 and they are gone... Trolling reels in a lot include 2 Daiiwa 47 H's, 1 Okuma Covector 45 D, 1 Shimano Triton GT, 1 Daiiwa Accudepth 47LC, 1 Daiiwa 47 LC Sealine, and 1 Daiiwa 47LC Great Lakes...$150... These lots wont be broken apart so maybe you guys can go in on this with a buddy and pick through the gear for what you want...There is a chance at working out an entire package deal as I want these boxes out of here but have to get what I was asked to... I reside in Irondequoit and wont ship...If someone is seriously interested in buying these PM me and we can set a time to make an exchange...
  11. 12 pound Ande for me until the fleas show up...Then its 30 pound Ande...
  12. Maybe try tying in a tiny barrel swivel to your main line and making a leader to your swivel so you can have 2 points of twist reduction... Also, try letting your lure rest before your next cast as it will spin itself out of the twist it created...
  13. Try flashing 2-3 times, or until you are sure every piece of glo has been charged... You can put the flash right up to what you are charging, 1-2 inch's away...
  14. I am looking to off-load my centerpin and rod... I have a 5" Stanton center pin for sale...The reel is in good condition...Small scratches here and there but the bearings are broken in as good as they could ever be and this is the smoothest best running pin i've had...At one point they stopped making these reels, so I bought a crappy used one for parts and that reel will be included... The rod I use with it is actually a spey rod...Its a 13'6" Diamondback 8 weight...I have preferences for using the heaviest line I can and fighting fish hard so thats why I use this...You'll be able to land kings before your buddies can turn around and figure out you hooked one, and has the softness to fish light leaders for steelies and browns... In trying to figure out a fair price, I will say that a new Stanton will cost over $400, and my spey rod which was $500...For the Stanton, parts reel and rod I would like $250... As usual I dont ship but am very willing to meet someone within a half hour or so drive of Rochester...Meaning we can meet anywhere as long as I am not driving for more than 30-45 minutes to meet you...Pm me if interested and if someone buys/meets me today (12/7/08) or tomorrow (12/8/08) i'll take $50 bucks off as I just want to get this stuff out my sight...
  15. The gear has been sold to Pike Hunter... I hope your new equipment brings you plenty of joy out on the water, good luck next season...
  16. Considering its going to be years by the time I get to use my boat again, I wanted to sell all of my gear and just start over again in the future...What I have to offer is: My spoon assortment is 150+ of all sorts from R&R, NK, Pirate, Stinger, some no-names and others I cant think of...This is not just the crap that I sorted through but every-spoon I have from my custom tapes and paints to no-longer mades... Next I have an assortment of 30 J-plugs in size 3, 4, and 5...The colors are silver bullets, mongoose, green-glows and watermelon to name a few...There all good plugs in great condition as I hardly ever combat trolled...Most but not all will come with a harness... Next I have 30+ trolling flies from atomik, siggs and howie and some handtied ones...Cant remember the colors off hand but you dont have to worry they will all catch fish...Most are rigged with the proper hooks and leader... Lastly, I have 25 Luhr Jenson dodgers in size 0...Colors range from chrome, white/pearl-fishscale tape and all different types of silver glo's to name a few...All in fine condition... I would like to get rid of this stuff all at once and the price will reflect that...I will not ship but i'll drive 30-45 minutes to meet you somewhere...All the above fits very nicely into a plano tackle box that will be included... Send me a PM if you think $200 is fair...Ohh, for $220 i'll throw in my large Puerto Rican Bomber, and 1 large and 2 small Cindy Bomber...
  17. I would be all for it... I do like to run full spreads when i can, and sometimes with less rods out I feel I am not covering the water the way I would like to...Also, I find myself sometimes choosing between this rig, or that rig when I only have 1 more rod to put out and a couple extra rods between 2 people would sure help that...
  18. I was typing them in as I was looking through my box and what I listed is exactly what you would be acquiring...
  19. Selling a lot of some stickbaits that I dont need...All of them are in very good condition and are basically brand new...If your seriously interested send me a PM and I will not ship but I dont mind driving up to 30-45 minutes to make a exchange and am located right by Irondequoit Bay...Sorry I have no picture but I cant seem to get them off the camera, into the computer... I'm asking $110 for them which I think is fair as most of these have never touched the water and stickbaits are'nt cheap to begin with... 1 J-11 Firetiger 1 S-9 Firetiger 1 J-11 Firetiger 2 J-11 Perch 1 S-11 Perch 2 S-11 Black/Gold 1 J-9 Black/Gold 1 J-11 Black/Gold 3 J-9 Black/Silver 5 J-11 Black/Silver 2 S-11 Black/Silver 2 S-11 Silver/Chartruese 2 S-11 Rainbow 1 S-11 Silver/Blue 1 S-9 Silver/Blue 2 J-11 Gold/FlrscntRed 3 J-9 Gold/Flrscnt Red 1 S-11 Gold/Flrscnt Red 2 S-9 Gold/Flrscnt Red: That completes the Rapala Portion... 7 Small Bomber Long A's: 2 Black/silver 3 black/gold/orange, 1 Pearl White, and 1 blue/green and orange... 6 Reef Runners: Dont know there colors well enough to know what they are but they are brand new and I picked colors I thought for steelies and browns... 4 Jr- Thunder-stick's: 2 black/silver, and 2 black/gold/orange... 3 Small Yo-Zuri Cyrstal Minnows in Black/Silver... 4 Large Yo-Zuri Cyrstal Minnows: 2 Black/Silver, and 2 Rainbow... 2 Large Holographic Minnows from Rebel BlackSilver... 3 Large Black/Silver Challengers...
  20. You got that right...I call them chokers... gokudl3, thats a good point you brought up and one I never thought of...There really does not seem to be much difference between steelhead and brown eggs...I really can not recall if I ever have fished steelhead/rainbow eggs in the Genny...I admit that those fall spawning, I guess domestic rainbows are my absolute favorite eggs to use...Its just the more orangish red hue they have to them that I have a preference for...I would only use them in clearer waters and I dont think I ever have in the Genny... Since the day years ago when I was catching nothing and my friend 3 feet to my right fishing the same exact seams was hooking up every cast...I was using brown eggs, he was using king eggs...Same colors, same size and I could not hook a fish and he had 6 or 7, he hands me a king sac and I hooked up on the first cast and started using his bags with the same results...Never used a trout egg in the Genny since... The more I think of it water clarity seems to be the biggest factor...A good example is last Saturday at the Catt...Water was becoming muddy as I fished it and I did well using king eggs...Some Cattaraugus steelhead will never see a king egg in there life but if the water was clear you can bet i'd be using fall spawning "rainbow" eggs to get the smaller profile I desire...
  21. It was most likely the fishermen in that scenario not changing there pattern to continue catching fish...You showed up and offered something different and picked away the fish that shyed away from the sacs...Never had a issue getting fish to go on brown sacs, and if the water is dictating single eggs, 3-4 brown eggs is all i'll put in a sac and thats smaller than a king egg... I do fish egg flies under a float but the glo-bug is one I never use as I dont find them particularly effective but some people like'em a lot...This is coming from the last 10 years of me caring for nothing other than catching steelhead... Note to others dont even waste time with a brown sac in the Genny unless its mid-winter and its as clear as its ever going to be...Fish never see a brown egg in there time in the river and its usually dingy and I think they key in on the smell and sight of a nice king egg sac...Exactly why I stocked 25 pounds in my freezer this fall... Just adding my 2 pennies...
  22. I think the Walker Strike Vision would be your best bet...I believe that's the only company that offers a camera specifically for a downrigger...Might pose you a issue as you have Scotty's, and I am not sure if you can interchange the system...
