Mark, The river is running very high due to the excess snow melt. All brown and muddy. This is not a good time to fish.

Being a novice, I had some trouble with the weight retriever on the coated cable. I have lost a depth raider because I failed to reterminate the line before it gave away. Dawg - we re on the same page. I plan to get a dedicated rigger just for the probe only.

Thanks for sharing a great slide show. Our school is just right by the river gorge south of 104 bridge. Occasionally, I take a peek down the gorge and wondered how the guys were doing down there. You have proven that fishing can be successful in the winter.

YT, I grew up fishing for the billfish tournaments on my cousins boat off New Jersey shores (Ocean City, NJ). We caught mostly yelllow fins tuna and some sail fishs at least 30 miles off shore. The tuna steak on the grill are so tasty. You will want to keep the tuna meat in addition to fighting them. Blue fins tuna are much bigger and I do recall catching a few of them. AD

Rich, By golly - you re absolutely right on this! I really liked your set up very much and our boats are nearly identical. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place as I have made up my mind to spend money on the auto pilot this year. I will need to find a third job if I am to spend $ on the Atlantic Towers tight lines!
