    Turn 83 Friday and I would like to try jigging and catch my first rigged salmon. ??'s - do you use a line counter reel; will a heavy spoon work; what is the jigging technique, shake the rod or lift it several inches, put the lure where the marks are on the graph, any other important points, thanks much.

    Thank you, very helpful inf. It would be great if the marina would contact the correct party to dredge the channel for the summer, a lot of larger boats renting slips that don't want big money repairs. Everybody should be asking the marina to make something happen.

    Hopefully, a couple of volunteers with boats would be in the river at time of release for at least a couple of hours and keep the multitude of cormorants from landing on the water, might even be a fun time, one is allowed to harass them, please--please !!!!!

    John a friend of mine watched the same thing happen on Sandy creek re stocking of rainbows a couple days ago, you charter captains should get together and request a meeting with the DEC and try to come up with a solution
