  1. Let me know when and where and I will swing in. Mon through Thurs. Friday I am lake bound.
  2. I would like to think all fishermen are relatively honest and up standing citizens. 99% of the people on this board seem to be great people and the ones that I have actually meet prove my theory is right. But Murphy's law states that their will always be one that is not the norm. Congratulations PP39 you take the prize! Now you tell everybody you won something, hands down with nobody disagreeing.
  3. Taughannock had an employee of the state checking trailers, and asking that bilges and hulls be drained at the launch yesterday.
  4. The new store at 3151 Vestal Parkway E. now has gasoline without Ethanol “Our ETHANL FREE PREMIUM 91 OCTANE : is recommended for use in lawn mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, jaws of life, portable water pumps, boat engines, older vehicles prior to 1974 or other two cycle engines. Check with the manufacture or dealer of your small engine. The use of Gasoline with 10% ethanol in many cases, may affect the plastic and rubber engine parts and could possibly void your manufacture small engine warranty.
  5. Swim noodle and tooth picks. Works for me.
  6. Call Kevin Jerge from the Wilson boat yard. I have the same situation as you. He put an independent steering drive on my kicker and a master switch at the helm to switch back and forth
  7. A lot of misconceptions on this. As one who deals with this daily here is the scope. One: yes technically you need dot numbers if your hauling your boat as part of a money making business. Now unless your over 26000 lbs combined weight. No cdl or log book required. You should display dot numbers. Personally if it was me get your numbers and affix them to a magnet and only display the numbers when your in boat is in tow. Now if you choose to comply you can be stopped for random dot checks and you must pull into weigh/inspection stations on the highway. When displaying the for numbers you must have a fire extinguisher , safety triangle, first aid in the vehicle. Also everything on truck and trailer must be in good working order. The only thing I am not sure about is if your not running commercial plates can you still display for numbers
  8. Two trucks and trailers in the parking lot at Taughannock. Looks like one lane is open for launching.
  9. Mark, I will get Cheryl to email you the Facebook link for payments. She cleaned up the site nicely.
  10. Mark the owner is a great guy, Randy the sales person also great. My family has known them for years. The service dept has had its ups and downs. Get a hold of Frisco and he will have tales to tell you. Great boat you'll never anything but a Lund again.
  11. Ken, I am heading up to camp again this Saturday with a load of prepainted molding I have been working on during the week.. I will update you if the park has the launch open yet. Let's touch base via cellphone. As soon as the launch opens I need to get my 16ft boat in and transport a boat hoist before the water comes up.
  12. I have been making regular trips up the our camp for the last month. The south end froze out to the wooden piling out front of the inlet. But the lake is definitely cold. A couple weeks ago on a cold evening, I was amazed to watch the glaze over with ice when the wind layed down. That was across from AES .A few hours later the wind picked up a bit and the broke up and sounded like millions of crickets. Just was awesome.
  13. Plant will run while demand is up. I would expect it to continue running while the heating season continues. It has been running all winter.
  14. The park has barricades up blocking the boat launch. The pieces of ice ranged from 6 inches to 18 inches thick and they varied in size from basket ball size to the size of your vehicle hood. The basin is full of chunks of ice. The north west corner of the basin was significantly washed out. I would assume with size of the ice chunks coming through, dock damage is inevitable.
  15. Launch was open out to the lake but a lot of ice at the base of ramp yesterday. Keep your rear tires on the dry concrete and you should be fine. Be careful turning around though the channel out is narrow.
  16. Aurora Inn. Taughannock Falls Inn. Also look into renting a cottage right on the lake
  17. I am heading up that way tomorrow morning, I will update. I am almost positive the bubbler is in already, but can not remember who told me.
  18. This is one of the best Tournaments in the Finger Lakes. The people who run this tournament know how to treat a sponsor and run a tournament. As a fisherman and the owner of my own company, I like to give back to the sport of fishing, especially in my home waters. We donated money the last few years and the appreciation they show is fantastic. This year we recieved a personal thank you card, a few pictures of the event and a banner that we proudly display here at my office. I applaud this organization and planning on contributing what I can each and every year. PS, with any luck maybe I could win back some of the donations I've made over the years if we could get back a track and start putting fish in the boat like in the past?? EVERYBODY should mark the date on their calander and plan on attending.
  19. I believe that people should be able to use their land as they see fit. The anti fracking people are costing me hundreds of thousands of dollars. I own a significant amount of acres in Broome county and will most likely retire when the right lease is signed. As for the LP. Store it if it can be done safely. Also, investigate propane coops, I just filled my 1000 lbs tank at 1.85 per gal. Sure beats the going rate of $3.50 and up. Lastly, if we continue to stop every single business that wants to be prosperous in NY, be prepared to watch your taxes go up and up. But I suppose you anti frack and anti LP will probably be anti tax increase. You can't have your cake and eat it too!! Sorry for the rant.
  20. Call the police if you do not like the response-- call your county's bar association. This is set up for attorneys who must donate time at no charge. You will get exactly 30 minutes free of charge. This will tell you the legal options you have. I have found from personal experience that just using the terminology the attorney uses with the police you will be taken much more serious.
