  1. For sale. 1997 Seadoo Speedster. This boat was a ton of fun for my wife but it is time to upgrade. The boat 15ft in length. Everything works on the boat. Both motors have had attention in the last two years. Port motor was rebuilt in 2012 and Starboard motor was replaced this past August. This is a fun and fast boat with twin 135 hp jet motors. It reaches top speed if 62 mph!! Interior is in good shape, I am having seem redone as we speak. Comes with a mooring cover. Trailer had bearings serviced this spring and new tires in 2012. If your looking for fun boat that is great to go fast, pull tubes or just cruise, you should consider this ride. Winter storage available. Asking $4000 or best offer. I can email pictures.
  2. Looking for a cleaner for the hull and all fiberglass surfaces that will not strip the wax off the boat? I have been using "Amazing Roll On" that works great as a cleaner but leaves me with an extremely clean boat but the shine is gone. Thanks for your help.
  3. Atlantic Towers, is a first class operation. Products are second to none. They should be back on track now. They fell way behind during hurricane Sandy. I ordered rod holders and were honest on the time frame.
  4. Lighter line is not the way to go. Dipsey's pull hard by design. I know you will be donating alot of gear to the lake. Most of us use a stainless steel wire. The logic is much less stretch when manually releasing and also is more forgiving when you drive into weed pods. Read the posts on here about fishing with Dipsey's your ideas will change.

    title?

Your title will tell you if it is a salvage, rebuilt or recreated/ homemade title. Each state is different in how they represent this on a title. This type of title will only occur if an insurance co totaled it or someone bought a boat with out ownership transferring paper work. Now if someone bought the boat as a project there would be little to no way to determine its history. Except mechanically if they replaced a motor.
  6. I ran "triple fish" this spring as my leader material on all rigger rods and my cores. Personally I was very disappointed. To many line breaks right at the knot? This was the fluorocarbon in both 10 and 12. Needless to say I switched brands.
  7. Taughannock is $7. Sheldrake is a gravel launch. Not bad unless you have a heavy boat and no 4 wheel drive. Omalleys has a launch too, although not sure what it takes to launch there?
  8. As a person who owns a cottage on Cayuga lake. If the hydrilla chokes the shorelines it will cause that housing market to plummet. You can see it at the northern end of Cayuga already. I feel if it was intended to be here it would have been at the dawn of time.
  9. This was forwarded to me regarding the Hydrilla Issue on Cayuga Lake. I thought people might find it interesting. Also note when the inlet will be closed. The invasive aquatic weed hydrilla was first spotted in Cayuga lake last summer. Aggressive treatment on 2012 helped slow its spread but treatments will need to continue for many years. The first application of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16th, starting at 8:00 a.m., at which time the Inlet will be closed to boat traffic until the application is complete.. The herbicide Aquathol K will be applied in the Cayuga Inlet, the Flood Control Channel, the Treman Marina and the lower reaches of Cascadilla Creek and Six Mile Creek. The herbicide is applied below the surface of the water, using a boat where possible and backpack sprayers in less accessible areas. The application is expected to be completed in one day. The first analytical results will be available later this week at StopHydrilla.org. Meanwhile, for detailed information about the herbicides and the Hydrilla eradication effort, visit http://ccetompkins.org/environment/invasive-species/herbicides-use
  10. The results I posted were forwarded to me by Ron Seacord, the gentleman from the SA who organized the tourney? I personally did not attend the weigh in.
  11. Check out the results of this past weekends tournament. I unfortunately (for myself) never imagined that the weights would be so low.. I only fished Saturday due to work obligations but we threw back LL and and Bows that would have put my wife and I on the board. I told her, I didn;t feel like buring the fuel to run the boat to Myers. Well you can see who was right! Congrats to all the winners!!!! This is a great Tournament, I must commend the people from the Salvation Army, very professional. My Company looks forward to donating to this event. 12. As for the weeds. This is typical for 4th of July. I have been fishing all week and the weeds got so much the last for days. I attribute the problem to all the pleasure boaters chopping them up in their travels. Pray for a good blow and they will end up on a shoreline. As for the fleas. Flea flicker line is the only way to go. Welcome to NY and the invasive species.
  13. We tow trailers all the time at work. Here is what we do. Run good quality rotors and ceramic pads. The are designed to take the abuse. Next install a tranny cooler in your truck. Lastly change your tranny fluid and run a semi or full synthetic. That being said drop your truck into 1st gear before the hill. Another trick is if it's a 4x4 then put it 4 low. Let the tranny be your brakes. Electric brakes on boat trailers are a no go. We tried it on an equipment trailer to get a small barge out of the water. The breaks worked intermittently till they dried out.
  14. Best story I can remember is an ole timer at the launch with a beat up aluminum boat. I have seen him so many times before with a cobbled up trailer, crescent wrench winch handle etc. one Saturday morning we got to the launch and he was there teaching his grandson the ins and outs of being a mariner. Thought nothing of it and heard the ole timer say unplug the trailer ( which I assumed meant lights) well the grandson proceeded to pull the pin out of the hitch. As the ole timer starts backing down the ramp the hitch slides out of the receiver, most would think, ok no problem safety chains will stop it and with a bit of effort the trailer jack would assist getting the trailer hooked back to the truck. We watched the tail end on the hitch pull out of the recieiver, then the dog chain used as safety chain that would not hold up a hang basket of flowers snaps. There goes boat and trailer down the ramp with the truck sitting still. The boat floated in the water, supported the trailer too. We quickly roped the boat and got it back to the dock. Once we finally got it back on the truck, the ole timer never raising his voice shows the boy what he meant and then the launched and started their day. I commend that ole timer for his patience.
  15. My hat goes off to all who participated in the search for Chris Dennis. We were at camp this weekend which is 3 lots away from where Chris took his final canoe ride. We watched so many local and state agencies and local charter captains search through some of the nastiest conditions Mother Nature puts on Cayuga. It was very nice to see all the efforts to bring this 22 year old back to his family. Lets all hope he turns up and gives closure to his family and searchers.
  16. We fished Saturday only, not by choice. Made a south troll from just north of king town to the ledge at the south end. We hit fish in a few spots on our troll and the screen didn't lie. We strictly ran a salmon program 2 riggers down 15 to 35 and cores 2,3,5,7 off the boards. I found that when we marked good pods of fish rods would fire. Unfortunately the pods were not numerous. We ended up doing 8 salmon 5 of them were just over 20 inches. When we decided to run north our main engine would not start. It made the 15 mile run on the 9.9 kicker take over 2 hours. Spent Sunday morning diagnosing and fixing the problem. Too bad we had motor problems I would have liked to chase the pods of fish we saw earlier? Congrats to all who put fish on the board.
  17. Do you have an printable entry form so we can do it by mail?
  18. You can download the user -owners manuals on their website.
  19. Garmin has an awesome set up, that is totally separate from your out drive. Tr1 gold.
  20. What is the model of the rod? Their are a wide variety of blue diamond rods?
  21. You can always get a different prop for the boat, you will loose a bit on the top end but would be one of the cheapest ways initially to get down to 2 mph. You can also adjust your Rpms at idle alittle to allow for a slower troll. Tons of options, it's just whatever suits your needs with your program.
  22. 3 per person. The law / rule expires at the end of this year.
  23. I have 3 big jons with 4 and 5 ft booms. Work great. I have a good amount of the necessary spare parts to toss in. Sold the boat they were on. Send me a pm if interested.
  24. Leadcore will generally dive 5 ft per color deployed give you 50ft down with 10 colors. . You can add weight to the core with Michigan stingers dive bomb or something similar like torpedo divers. Personally if your looking to get below 50 ft in the water column your best bet would be copper set ups. Both have their place. 300 ft of copper will get you 60 down and a 500ft copper should be tickling 100 ft down.
