I have a brand new set of Amish outfitter collapseable planner boards, I bought them last season from fish USA, they were in the water for all of 10 minutes and I more or less decided I liked my otter boats better. Les, I was just using my WeatherBug app, it did say gusts over 40, I'm thinking maybe it was a lull when I checked, can't ever really trust a cell phone app I guess!

I checked the south end webcam this moring and it seems to be out of commission for the time being. Trident marine now has a webcam, it dosent face the main lake basin from what I can tell but is another tool to use. What was ice on Saturday is now wide open. When I checked the weather at about one am for honeye (night owl with my work schedule) it was 18 degrees with a wsw wind around 15 mph, almost exactly how it is right now. Looks like cold weather for the next two weeks. If the wind lays down for 2 or 3 days of highs in the teens and lows near single digits the lake should lock in to the point wind isn't really a factor. My guess is two weeks we might be on honeoye somewhere. Until then guess I will just have to ride north or go jig lakers on the big fingers. fish tails, pleasure fishing against tou, you seem like a great guy, sorry I didn't get a chance to congratulate you in person, after the awards eveeyone was sun fried and ready to jet for home, you and I were neck and neck all weekend it was a lot of fun. Hope to talk to you more and look forward to seeing you next year. Hells bells if you guys see this it was great slippig next to you and shooting the bull. As stated above this was the toughest derby I've ever fished. We went 5 for 7 on cookie cutter Lakers Saturday, Sunday just 3 for 5 same deal fishing the north end. Saturday we got a late start, a flat tire on the boat trailer in the staging lot on the north end is never a good way to kick things off! Sunday got the early start, Long story short. Came by the pump house in 35 fow, I had literally just turned away from that rigger and walked to the helm to grab a spoon I had set out for a lead core when I heard the tell tale splash and slap of very large very pissed off cartwheeling something. So I ran to the rigger and cranked like a mad man. Had it on maybe 15 seconds flipped 2 more times, charged the back deck and shook the spoon. Conseritave estimate of a 7+ pound rainbow. That one will haunt me a while. As with everyone else I threw the kitchen sink at them, even tried my old standby of pulling wire. Back to the big lake for me next weekend to start pre fishing for the upcoming atomik challenges and sodus pro am. Tight lines to all!

she is just 4 months so this weekend will be her first real experience let's hope she can sniff them out or retrieve a big dead money floater if we see one LOL!!
