  1. Church boards will pull 10 color leadcore. Offshore boards don't allow for weight to be adjusted forward & the board will tip & ride nose up with 10 colors with reef runner deep divers!
  2. Headed out about 7:15 AM & fished 80 to 100ft of water .Ran 6 rods & took most strikes on 2 10 color suffix 832 leadcore rods pulling mag spoons. Ran next 2 rods off rigger pulling mag spoons set from 5-10 ft off bottom at 2.2 mph. Ran 3rd set of 2 mono dipsy rods set on #1 setting pulling flasher/fly combo 100-125 ft out. Turned west out of the chute & let out the 2 leadcores. The first rod fired before we could set 3rd line. Trolled 90 action filled minutes before we had time to set 4th rod. Finally got all rods set & had a steady pick until 10 AM when the North East wind kicked up bringing some white caps with a bitter cold breeze with them. This sent us to the dock in time for lunch. We ended going 18 for 20 on fish hooked all Laker trout with several more down rigger releases with no one home. The lakers were all good size with multiple fish in 20# class. Hot lures were Mag Seasick Waddler & FLT Mag War machine spoons. We hoped to stumble across a king or two but it never happened. Good luck & be safe!
  3. Got these in the mail. They look awesome! I can't wait to get them wet.
  4. I would consider it a bigger blessing to live long enough to use it a long time! Yes the docks are in near the Black North!
  5. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR IDEAS AT BASSPRO
  6. I won't qualify for the senior pass for a few years yet!
  7. Two years ago. Seasons passes available at state park office. Periodically the check lot & ticket whoever didn't pay to launch.
  8. The ticket vending machine as you drive in to the state launch on west side would dispute your comment.
  9. Made a trip to the Oak this morning to get our fishing fix. The weekend weather outlook is not good, so today was our best shot. We had to launch at the East launch next to the Black North Inn. The West side state launch was still padlocked, heaven forbid the state misses out on a dime. When we launched the wind was out of the South. We took a left outta the chute & set up in 10 ft of water. Ran all sticks off planer boards. The wind soon switched around to the West making it kind of tough to keep constant speed & direction with the gusts. We stayed west of the river & ended up 12 for 15 with a few good ones. The water temp was cold, never finding water above 38 degrees. The hot baits were Bay Rat "My Secret" & Thunderstick Jr in Gizzard shad pattern. The sun came out for maybe 30 minutes & the Bay Rat "BT Candy" fired three times in a row. Ended up keeping 6 that inhaled the stick & were not going to make it. I really enjoyed getting back on the water but it still is COLD out there.
  10. Bay Rat BT Candy!!! It's what's for breakfast!
  11. i HAVE NO DOG IN THIS FIGHT BUT FOUND THIS.
  12. Thanks. Ran up & checked for docks earlier in the week but no go.Boats too big & my legs are too short to launch with out them.!
  13. I HAVE FOUND OR SHOT BUCKS WITH BOTH EXPANDABLE & FIXED BROADHEADS IN THEM FROM PREVIOUS HITS. THE THING THEY HAD IN COMMON WAS POOR SHOT PLACEMENT.TOO MANY HUNTERS THINK THE DISTANCE THEY SHOOT AT THE RANGE IS WITHIN THEIR RANGE & ABILITY IN THE WOODS. MOST HUNTERS PRACTICE AT THE WIDE OPEN RANGE WHERE THEY DON'T HAVE TO ACCOUNT FOR BRANCHES, TWIGS OR LEAVES. SO 37 YARDS THROUGH BUSHES & BRUSH AFTER AN EXTENDED DRAW MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN A WISE CHOICE.JMO
  14. Are the docks in yet at the Oak Launches?
  15. REEL EXCITEMENT CHARTERS GIVES FISHING CONDITIONS ON FACEBOOK COMPLETE WITH LURES & COORDINATES. GREAT SOURCE FOR NEWBIES SUCH AS MYSELF!
  16. We went against conventional wisdom & put the weight just ahead of of the leader knot to get maximum depth.
  17. We put a 4 oz snap weight on the 10 color & was in the zone Sunday! The ten color didn't take fish all day w/o the snap weight!
