  1. We were into fish this evening in tight.
  2. Same for us today off Olcott. All week I am pulling out spoons, meat heads and jplug harnesses way down kings mouths. They were chewing. Today 1 for 4 in the morning then in for breakfast and then reset for offshore steelhead head. ZERO steelhead today over fantastic water with a midge hatch, bait, slick lines …..should have been perfect. Three hours and one release and maybe two hooks on the graph. The bite is off today.
  3. Tons of warm water but the stagers don’t care. We were catching in 71 degree water today.
  4. Lots of boating around nearby Conesus Lake. I would look there.
  5. And now he has your gps coordinates lol.
  6. It’s on the LOC board. 27 lbs and change.
  7. It shows the strength of steel! I feel better going over all the rusty bridges in our area after seeing that picture. Thanks for sharing as it is a good lesson for all.
  8. that is what an air horn is for
  9. How is the bite today with this NE’er?
  10. Sounds like he got caught with his pants down.
  11. A fisherman’s cooler. More meat strips than food.
  12. Brian, there appears to be a trawler in Olcott. Any idea what they are sampling?
  13. Either plankton or Calcium. The water would need to be sampled to tell for sure but the veils appear to have a green cast not white. There has been lots of upwellings this year. I can’t remember a year when I could fish as high in the water column during the heat of summer so it might be fueling calcium from marl off the bottom but we also have had warm weather so maybe plankton? Calling Dr Weidel …….calling Dr Weidel….

    The Catt

I should have prefaced my statement about wind events by saying West or SW winds restock the structure humps with fish. East winds will kill the bite and push the school back West.
  15. A good head’s up! I am sensing Hank is going to get busier with repairs lol.
  16. Here is an event from 2013. This is before the two bad winters that followed. The lake was super warm and we were complaining we needed more kings stocked due to all the bait we were seeing. It took time, warm summers, and some easy winters to get the lake closer to the way it was before the harsh ‘14-‘15 winter reset. Hopefully good things to come with bait levels.
  17. Proof the Lake Ontario IS NOT in decline. Notice whiting event.

    The Catt

No we didn’t fish with the pack. I am finding small isolated rock structures have gobies that hold walleye. Each new wind event reloads them. You don’t have to go that deep.

    The Catt

There is a good school of walleye off the Catt. We spent more time in launch line than it took to get our two man limit before 8:00 am. All caught on worm harnesses near bottom.
  20. This will defund our wildlife programs therefore is anti-hunting and anti-fishing
  21. ?? Michigan is still baitfish poor due to cleaner water and overstocking of Lake Trout. These outliers are probably the result of natural reproduction in one of their many clean running rivers. Something in their genetics is making them stay out in the lake longer.
  22. Reverse natural selection. The biggest and strongest should get the right to breed (I am 5’ 7” and have two kids that are short).
  23. Interesting since moving the weight forward on their smaller walleye board makes it pull harder.
