  1. WOW !! Completely surprised that New York has not implemented this law by now !! New Hampshire the " Live Free or Die " state has had this law for many years and I just took it for granted that Ney York would have certainly had it is well! Fisherman well know the situations that arrise on the water with other boaters cutting us off ect. I now bellieve that these situations may be because some boaters just don't know the rules. Classroom lisencing may bring people up to speed on Coast Guard regulated waters, entering and exiting waterways and minimun operating distances/speeds. In short -- this will be a good thing for boaters not bad.
  2. Pete , I will take my Brady Jersey in a xx large !
  3. On the Lam -- In a prior conversation, we spoke about a certain bet ( maybe you can recall a spring brown trout trip and free dinner @ the steak house in Oswego ???? ) if the Patriots and the Giants met in the superbowl. That's a great looking boat you have , can't wait to catch fish on it ! Game on ! Art from New Hampshire P.S. Red Sox Nation is alive and well, and how about them Bruins !!!!!!! LOL-LOL-LOL
  4. Where I live, the option is still up to the operator as is the option of wearing a seat belt or a helmet. -- Live Free or die !
  5. I just received this and agree what a great idea. Some really good ideas here. Christmas 2011 -- Birth of a New Tradition I like it! As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes there is! It's time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper? Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates from your local American hair salon or barber? Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some health improvement. Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a book of gift certificates. Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plonking down the Benjamins on a Chinese made flat-screen? Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course. There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants -- all offering gift certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy eatery sort, what about a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this isn't about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open. How many people couldn't use an oil change for their car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy? Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning lady for a day. My computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business up and running. OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people spin their own wool and knit them into scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery and beautiful wooden boxes. Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave your server a nice tip. And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at your hometown theatre. Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands. Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of light, about fifty cents stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip. You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that China can build another glittering city. Christmas is now about caring about US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine. THIS is the new American Christmas tradition. Forward this to everyone on your mailing list -- post it to discussion groups -- throw up a post on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section in your city -- send it to the editor of your local paper and radio stations, and TV news departments. This is a revolution of caring about each other, and isn't that what Christmas is about?
  6. I would love to pay for your steak ( on the lam) if you had been daring enough to take my bet a couple of weeks ago. I will say though, it was a great game ! We will stay in touch and I will let you know when I come out to camp in the spring. Dinner wil be on me. Congrats this round goes to the giants !
  7. If that is what a giants fan looks like , You may have just converted me !!!!!!!!
  8. On The Lam--- that sounds fine. I am real suprised that I could not get a bite out of the Bills fans? They all must know they are going to get an all out beat down. And --- OMG --- a Raiders fan out of the woodwork lol-lol-lol .
  9. I hear a lot of jabber but still no - one to take the bait ? Ok, one last offer before I pull rods and head for port, -- A spring Brown trout trip , dinner @ the Steak House & a Fitzpatrick jersey ( Brady going my way ). Looks like your going to be disapointed in your Bills fans - On The Lam - I also wanted to address the comments about the Pats being only an offensive team, I think the Cowboys would beg to differ after Haynesworth lit them up last week. ! The sox on the other hand ---- ----- can't defend them at this point
  10. SOOOO I gues that means you don't want to bet? I will give you the 18-1 but can you say 3 Super Bowl wins ! Ok-OK I will also throw in a free dinner @ the Steak House in Oswego if the Pats loose. " Think of this as changing up lures when nothin's biting " lol
  11. You guys can talk all you want but when it is all said and done the Patriots will be the team you are all talking about ! They should have 0 losses to this point. Bills fans CAN NOT be proud of that victory earlier in the year. Anyone want to take bets on how much the Pats and BB will win by the next time they meet ? Say maybe a spring brown trout trip ?
  12. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Just wondering if there have been any runs up the rivers yet? I think last year there was a good run around the weekend of Labor Day. We will be making a trip out next weekend so any information would be greatly appreciated. ====================
  13. I agree , usually the 1st week in Sept through the 3rd week. We are usually off the lake by the end of Sept. and start to fish the rivers.
  14. Hey guys ( and gals ), I have been following this thread for a while and wanted to weigh in with my thoughts. I work for the New Hampshire Dept. of Transportation and we just visited a local wind farm in Lempster N.H. . To start I could not believe how large and loud these mills are. I also could not help but think how much these monsters would ruin my fishing vacations to Lake O. It seems to me that they could find alternitive places to put these things. I hope this program does not actually take reality. Just my thoughts ! All the best !
  15. Nice fat belly Bass ! Were you at Spofford Lake in Chesterfield? The Island in the back ground looks like the one in Spofford.
  16. The Cod and Haddock are good fishing this time of year. Striper fishing is also very good around June. Put your boat in the Merrimack River and drift fish to the mouth of the Atlantic and catch "tons" of fish.
  17. Thanks for the info guys and the suppurt for us " outofstaters" Ray. We're ready for round 2 next weekend, maybe Hank will fill the lake by then ! Either way , we're not working and far enough from home that we should'nt be bothered ! I"ll post the results from round 2 next week.
  18. Ok, I need to fill you all in on this past weekend from H@#$@^$ . Started out on Wednesday with 8 guys in our party from New Hampshire for the 6 hour trip to camp in Oswego with the hopes of getting a good start at four fun filled days of Brown Trout fishing. The trip started well with catching some good size Pike out of Wrights Landing ( caught and releases of course ) around 1:30 am on Thursday morning just fooling around on the docks. We were able to get out on the water around 10 am Thursday with 2 boats out of Mexico. 1 boat went west toward the stack and I went east to the Salmon River. Just as all lines were out I recieved a call from the other boat with a need for a tow, so in with all the lines and planners ! Within 15 yards of the other boat , his motor started and no longer needed the tow but of coarse at this time we were real close to shore and in shallow water. As I turned to get into deeper water I hit a rock with the prop and broke both it and some internal components in the lower unit??? thus needing the tow myself, so back to camp for the back up boat we went !!! After getting the other boat and this time launching out of Oswego we were able to troll around for about 2 hours before the steady 50 mph wind took over forcing us to drive to Mexico because we were not able to work our way back to Oswego! Over all I think we were able to get on the water a total of 6 hours from Thursday to Saunday! With all of that said we were able to salvage the weekend with a couple of 30 packs and a trip to Gander Mtn. for more lures! Can not wait for the next trip in a couple of weeks, I hope the weather improves this time. If all trips were easy I think you would get bored, it's trips like these that leave you longing for redemption ! Life is good !!!! hope to see you on the water!
  19. The evil Empire will not BUY another one this year !!
  20. 1) cost of gas from New Hampshire to New York = $100.00 2) breakfast , lunch and dinner for the weekend = $150.00 3) free brown tout trip courtesy of the Yankees = PRICELESS
  21. 7-7 , it's all over for the Bronx Bumblers from here !!
  22. Looks like ole' CC is done as well !!! Game on !! Go Sox !~!
