  1. Hi , I am from New Hampshire and will be out this weekend with a group of friends fishing for browns. While we are on the topic of rules and regulations I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the State of New York requires insurance on your boat as they do on your vehicle? New Hampshire still has no laws requiring insurance , seat belts or helmets for motorcycles . Although not required I know it is a good idea to cover yourself in such a situation and want to make sure that no one in our party gets in any trouble for not having insurance. Thanks in advance for your input and happy Easter !!
  2. Opening night this evening at Fenway !! I am willing to wager a friendly bet that the Red Sox put a woopin" on the Yanks tonight ! Say , maybe a brown trout trip this coming weekend ? Anyone willing to take the bait ?????
  3. If you fish at the dam in Oswego with an 8 year old you may want to consider paying the $10.00 to park on the RT> 481 side and come in from that side of the river so that the youngster will not need to cross the river as it can be tough for little guys!
  4. So a horse walks into a bar --- The bar Tender says ,hey buddy why such a long face !!!!
  5. Which came first -- the Salmon or the egg?????
  6. Hi , we are from New Hampshire and will be coming out to our camp in Oswego this week to originaly fish the LOC derby but I think the we could help out with the pro/am if you are still in a pinch by then. There will be 3 of us coming out if that will help, of course we are on the am end of things but willing to hussle to learn how to catch fish. Let me know if this works. Art
  7. Tony I agree, it seems that sometimes the larger boats appear as though they can go and do anything that they please !! You are right when you say that they are wrong, the problem is that they don't care ! In the spring we witnessed a larger charter boat( name will remain unspoken) cruise right over the top of a smaller boats planners and lines in which made a serious mess for the elderly man who was out enjoying the morning. If it were an accident I can see it but this guy made no attempt to move or even offer up an apology. I was hoping that the mess would end up in his prop and I would have laughed my *%$#*&$ off if the drag was loosened!! My suggestion would be to carry extra down rigger balls with you for situations like this. Good luck fishing and I hope you don't run ito these problems often !
  8. I think you will be fine as long as there were no banana's in the area!
  9. Thanks for the input. I will keep an eye out for your reports. Looks like I may be able to make it out on the weekend of the 20th ( fathers day seems like a good excuse to have the kids bring me fishing). Maybe we will see some of you at the launch or on the water ! All the best from New Hampshire !
  10. Hello , I was wondering if someone could clear something up for me? I have been told that fishing in the Eastern portion of the lake is very lathargic in the months of June and July. The areas that I am refering to are the Mexico and Oswego areas. Our party usually fishes the stack out of Mexico from mid August to mid September. We would like to do some additional fishing this year but was wondering if it was worth while to take the 6 hour trip this early? Any help would be appreciated. Good luck to all who are fishing the derby on the 20th. Trade Bait
  11. I was reading your comments on the snakehead and was not sure of what they are as I have never heard of them so I looked them up and thought I would post this link to some pictures. Not something I would like to see come up from the end of my line ! http://snakehead_fish.tripod.com/
  12. Went out on Sunday, headed west to the stack , started in 40ft ond worked out to 160 with no luck at all. I talked with a few people at the landing and it appears as though it has been quite slow lately. It is a 6 hour drive for us from New Hampshire But loved every minute of it !! Good luck and all the best ! Trade Bait ~!~
  13. Nice Job ! We are from New Hampshire and catch the same out of the mouth of the Merrimack River. June seems to be a good time up here for Stripers and we use cut bait. Art
  14. Any pictures of the new boat ? Sounds like a great time , We will be back out from New Hampshire the weekend of the 23rd.
  15. I agree ! The State boat launch is pretty nice ! There may be a fee as I believe they start charging in the begining of May( $6 - $7 ).The good news is that your ticket is good all day and at all state launches such as Fair Haven ect.. Also there is a portion of this web site that is dedicated to sharing trips , click on that part and post as well and you may be able to find some luck with some company. Good luck !
  16. Nice Job !! I have been hearing more reports of kings which is a good sign !
  17. I'm with you Sindale ! I would love to hear how to catch them!
  18. The fish we were catching also spit up goby's so we went to All Season Sports and purchased a couple of Goby spoons. We were not able to try them because Saturday was nasty and we were not able to get out. I will post what kind of luck that we had with the Goby lures after this weekend. We did not run any of the riggers because we were busy enough with running 2 lines off each board. I will give the riggers a try this weekend though if they are working. Art
  19. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck out of Mexico or Oswego? We were out last Friday and Saturday with Friday being excellent ! We went 9 for 12 with most fish averaging 4 to 5 pounds ( I know rather small ). All fish came off spoons of either green or orange colors and nothing from the stick baits , 10 - 15 fow. We will be back out this coming weekend and hope to have as much fun as last. Any additional information will be appreciated. Art from New Hampshire
  20. Caught 9 out of Mexico Last Friday and 2 had Lamprey marks as well.
