  1. Any fleas out of Henderson yet? Reports further South are that they are bad. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Heading to the shipping lanes Saturday to roll the dice on early silver... fingers crossed. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Fished the Lanes yesterday 7-11am. Did a full loop from the wall north towards duck islands then west and south back to wall. We covered 100-180fow. Finished 4 kings (5lbs was biggest) and 6 lakers, all 10# plus...had to keep the gear off bottom to avoid the lakers. Most consistent marks/bait were on north side of Lanes near Canadian border in 120-130 fow (all kings caught there)... Down 80-100 Did not mark or tangle with any matures but was good calm day out there. Good luck. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Great reports!! Heading to lanes Sunday. Are you guys running mag dipsies with O ring? Trying to get a feel for depth of these diver reports. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Great to see some early summer action in this area! We ran out of Cape Vincent to the Lanes on Saturday 6/25. Ran 2 riggers/2 divers. down 50-80 in 140-170fow-> 3 skippy kings, 2 10-14lb kings down 60-70 in 75-90 fow-> 2 Steelies 8-9 lbs All rigger bite for us... Will be out again Friday. Good luck!
  6. Fished the shopping lanes 2 weeks ago with some success, bait down around 70-90ft over 120-160ft, kings in same depth range. 4 for 7 on kings Fished it again this past weekend during the hard blow...hardly any bait or fish in that zone...found bait on the bottom in 100 and plenty of lakers, but didn't connect with any kings. 7. Fished the lanes today as well...4 for 7 on kings and a bunch of lakers. All kings came on divers out 145-175ft. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Is "the trench" between stony and the mainland, or between galloo and the duck islands? Heading to the lanes tomorrow morning to give it a try... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Posted in here last night but don't see it today. Went out to the shipping lanes off of Henderson yesterday. Did 3 kings and 10 lakers from 6:30-9:30am. Lakers were hogs with an 18lber, 17lber and 2 14lbers. Kings were 4 lbs 11lbs and 16lbs. They came down 55, 60, and 70 ft respectively, over 180 fow. The 11lber and 16lber hit nearly simultaneously and caused quite the fire drill to clear lines!! Marked a few large bait schools down 35-60 ft over 150-180fow. Ran at 2.3-2.5 knots all morning. Don't have a probe but definitely think there was a significant current down there from the rigger cables and dipsies. Anyone fish the lanes with a probe and have an idea of what the current it typically like? Was glad to see some kings finally! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Thanks for the report. What area were you fishing if you don't mind my asking? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. That's where I'll be fishing later this week. I'll report after the trip so no one wastes the fuel if there's no one home!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. From the reports I'm hearing, the king activity is much improved in most ports over the past week. Anyone have luck out of Henderson Harbor? Was out on 7/3 but didn't mark much other than lakers in 100-150fow. Heading up again Thursday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Fished the Lanes and Galloo on 7/3. Got out to the Lanes around 7:00AM, set up in 150fow and fished 150 up to 85fow for a few hours. Marked some bait down near the bottom and a few solid marks near the bottom as we'll (assuming lakers). Had 3 riggers, 2 divers and a 300 copper going from 2.2-2.6 knots running mag spoons with FFs mixed in, no kings to speak of yet. Eventually slowed it down and took 9 lakers in 2 hours. 3 over 13lbs Headed into galloo to finish with a few bass. 2 weeks ago we trolled the north shore in 8-15 fow and caught 21, 16 of which were 2lbs+, with 2 around 5lbs. For some reason of the 15 bass we caught this time, only 2 had any size with 13 of them smaller than 2lbs... First time we've ever caught small bass in that area in numbers. The kings will be in soon... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Wow, nice Brown! Glad to hear someone having some luck in that area. The bass fishing around Stoney and Galloo has been great but haven't seen any sign of Kings yet. Heading to the Lanes on Thursday to at least catch a few lakers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Fished Galloo last weekend in 8-15fow, caught 21 bass and a nice 8lb walley trolling. Bite seemed to be 5-10 fow early morning and 10-15 as it got brighter, 1.8-2.0 knots, stick baits. Biggest was 5 lbs 3oz Does anyone know the winning weight at the Henchens tourney? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Tried out past galloo from 60-120 fow. Very little bait and the occasional mark on the bottom in 70-90 fow (probably lakers). Surface temp was 53. Only gave it an hour or so as it was more a scouting trip. Little early still, another 2 weeks would be my guess for the bait/kings to start rolling in. 17. Fished Stony 6/9. 6 rod spread with stinger spoons with split shot and rapalas mixed in. Fished 10-30 flow all levels of water column at 1.9-2.5 knots. No browns to speak of, but did pick up a few nice smallies. Heading out again this weekend and will try a similar pattern. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Between round and little round island trolling Rap Shad Rapalas flat lined has produced pike and SMB in good numbers for us in the past. Drifting the west side of little round with minnows has also been decent. Good luck.
  19. Anyone try off galloo island area for trout? Heading up this weekend. Last year at this time, we did well on browns on the north side of the island, but the surface temp was about 60 degrees then...little chillier this year. -Steve
  20. Fished the Lanes on Saturday. Went 0-4 on Kings (all screamers) and picked up a bunch of lakers in the process. Didn't mark consistent bait or predator marks, but when we did, the nice marks were down 75-95 in 130-160 fow. King strikes came on dipseys with FF at 2.3 knots. Steve
  21. 110-125ft at 1.6-1.8knots off the bottom will get it done.
  22. Headed out Thursday for some Fourth of July fishing....what a day! Checked for Browns on north side of Galloo from 6:30-7:30. Fished from 30 fow to 70 fow, nothing going. So we picked up and headed 5 miles north west to the "lanes". Marked quite a bit of bait down 40-100 ft. Fished 3 riggers down 50, 70, and 100. 2 dipseys out 150 and 210 (magnum dipseys on 2 setting, no O ring), and. 300 copper of the boards at 2.0-2.2knots. Went 6 or 8 on Kings in 3 hours with the biggest being 24lbs! Also picked up 7 lakers from 9-15lbs. Headed in early bc we had guests arriving but it was fun whole it lasted. Nk28s up high (Blue Dolphin) and Flashers and flies on copper and lower riggers were the ticket. Steve
  23. Rbiz, it's about 40-50 min depending on wind direction. If the surface temp is still cold, we'll probably try to browns on north side of Galloo Thursday. I'll try to post a report after of what manage.
  24. I'm heading out Thursday from Cape Vincent, so Galloo is about as far South as we can manage. Last Saturday we went 12-14 on browns on the north side of Galloo in 15-25 fow with stingers, but I'm sure things have changed in the past week and a half. Any suggestions on depth and location for browns and early Kings in that area would be appreciated! Steve
  25. Fished from about 6:30am to 10:20 am.. Started a west troll on the north side of Galloo island. We fished 3 michigan stingers of each planer with just a splitshot to catch weeds, and used 2 riggers. Went 12 for 14 on Browns! All were taken in 10-25 fow, near the surface off the boards. Riggers picked up 2 nice smallmouth bass but no browns... The shallower planer that covered 8-15 fow took most of the fish with the brown trout imitation stinger the top producer. 2.5-2.7 knots seemed to be the ticket. Biggest brown was taken on board over 30 fow. Was 1 trolling rod shy of our ideal 8 rod spread so we used a spinning rod with 8 lb test for the last rod...an hour in, we had a 10.5lb Brown trying to spool it!... landed it, but we learned our lesson. Also took an 8 lber in the prop wash while we were attaching it to a rigger. Nearly took the rod off the boat as it wasn't in a holder yet... Surface temp was 61 degrees so I'm not sure how much longer they'll be active on the surface, but it was a blast! Tight lines, Steve
