  1. Are they actually going to try and fix those tracks? It’s always a pia crossing them. also, I doubt the slabs at Hanover will be fixed. I’m sure the town won’t spend the money. I hope I’m wrong.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I wish it was better news though.
  3. Does anyone know if the ramp in Geneva is open? I heard a rumor that the docks were out and it was closed. Just checking before I drive an hour + Thanks
  4. I’ll try sticks off the lead cores next time. Today, I headed out the Cat looking for perch starting in 50’. I marked nothing but walleyes but I could not get them to take until I got to 62’ where I also started marking more bait. From 62-70, we got our limit on the usual spoons and harnesses. Dropped a jig later on when 8 thought I saw some perch, but no luck, just another walleye.😄
  5. Those are really nice plugs. Who makes them? I wouldn’t mind buying a few. My plug bite has been awful . Tried everything that used to work with 0 success. Dreamweaver spoons tipped with a worm in watermelon and alewife patterns have been hot along with, of course, the usual harnesses. we also took a few perch Monday in the same depths and area as you. I’ll look for them again today.
  6. Good to know. My buddy went out and did the same in the afternoon. I guess these fish never moved over the past few days. I’ll be out Monday- Wednesday..
  7. Unfortunately, they have already knocked down the perch population and the ones that I have caught were loaded with 1” bluegills. I would not be surprised if they also are effecting the bass population too.
  8. I wish you would. Trying to catch fish with you requires interventions - divine!
  9. I hope you are right but according to a surface temp web sight I’m looking at, it is still cold from sturgeon west. I’m looking at seagull.glos.org. I’m not sure how accurate their future lake temp predictions are. I think I’ll go out of buffalo Friday, just in case
  10. You picked a good year to try and Tuesday might actually be ok as far as the wind goes. i also drive from Rochester. You have a few choices to launch. Closest is the small boat harbor in Buffalo. Head out the south gap and go to the border and fish west along it. The deeper you get, the better. I have been launching at Silver creek about 25 miles west of Buffalo. Two launches there. The state one and a private one called Hannover. Hannover has a fish cleaning station and costs $12. The state costs $7. There also is a smaller one between the two at Hidden harbor. That’s $10. Just head straight out and fish with the fleet in 60+ . You can also launch at sturgeon point. It is halfway between Buffalo and silver creek. It costs $15. all of these launches offer Sr discounts except the Hannover launch.
  11. Exactly. Good advice. Buddy fished Canada side yesterday and today. Didn’t matter where he was, fish were everywhere. Those yearling perch are going to take a hit this year.
  12. I might have see; you out there today if you were by yourself. i can’t believe you did not see fish on the screen. 58-61’ was loaded just west of straight out. Later in the morning, we trolled out to 71-73’. We did have a blank screen from 62-69’ but I knew from previous days the 70-78’ depth was good and the screen was loaded out there too. Maybe you were in that dead zone between schools. As far as big fish go, they seem to be hanging out more solitarily and the only guys I saw targeting them were during last weekends NWT. They “ hunted” them down with their live scopes and dropped a jig with a worm on them. I have been lucky and caught two 27” fish yesterday and today. And believe me, that was luck.
  13. Got another quick two man limit at the Cat today. They would not touch the plugs I put down but hit the spoons hard. I launched at the State ramp thinking the Hanover cleaning station was closed but when I checked on the way back, it was working. The guy there said it was a on again, off again situation. He wanted $12 just to clean fish so we went to Buffalo and was greeted by a 35 minute wait. Please tell me why some guys clean walleyes with a 6” knife and act as if they are giving them a manicure! Jeez!
  14. I’ll have to investigate the lite bite slide diver. Now I know why gator gave me all his dipseys😂
  15. That screen is amazing! They said there were 80 million walleyes over 2 yrs old in Erie. I doubt that. Probably 200 million! Nice job. I’ll be out the next two days.
  16. Just heard the cleaning station is closed all this week at Hanover. The grinder broke. if your a senior, launch at the state ramp for free during the week and clean fish at the small boat harbor. It’s a bit of a pia but when you limit out before 9:00, you have plenty of time to go to Buffalo.
  17. Just wondering if they got the cleaning station at Hanover back working again. I haven’t been around in a week
  18. Nice job checking the water temp and heading out to the 85-90’ area. From what I heard, that cold water was still there on Monday and the fish were deep. By Tuesday, the temp went back to normal as I found out when I drove right past the good temp to check out 90’. Nothing there. Screen was blank! Went back in to 70 and game on. We got our limit in an hour. Same program of worm burners and harnesses. Fish were down 44-50.
  19. Thank you guys. I’ll leave later. There are so many fish, it doesn’t matter
  20. If you don’t mind me asking, how was the launch at 8-8:30 on Saturday? I got there at 5:30 because I was worried about parking . I would much rather get there later. It’s a long drive from Rochester.
  21. Very good info Lily . Thank you. I have not been on the lake since late June and have to agree, it was a delayed spring for sure. Bob, I know how disappointing it can be for your grandson. I have been taking my 10 yr old grandson out as much as we can . Last trip, we were skunked on Lake Ontario. I cut the trip short so as not to discourage him. Thankfully, he still wants that salmon. i might suggest you take him to Skaneateles, Owasco, or canandaigua. Your best chance at jigging up a laker out of the three would be Owasco and there are plenty of pannies there. It is more prone to algae blooms than canandaigua or skaneateles though. Good luck.
  22. Fishing has been great at the Cat the past two weeks. A lot of those buffalo fish have moved to deeper water . We started in 58’ today, put the terrova quest on drift mode at 1.6 and had our limit by the time we hit 60’. Riggers down 55’, lead line at 7 color and wire dipsey out 110 on a setting of 3. Used harnesses and small spoons .
  23. It might be the beginning of the end in Buffalo. Water temp moved up to 72 and a lot of sheepies moved in to the 40-50’ depths. We still managed our two man limit by 9:00 am. Saw a lot of boats move out and fish the Canada line so maybe they moved out a bit. I’ll try there tomorrow. Riggers at 40’, lead out 6 color and wire dipseys set at three and out 78. Harnesses seem to work best today.
  24. Insane fishing again this morning. 24 in the boat plus a 10 lb catfish before 7:30. I stlll have my deep program going. 40-43’ down over 48 works best for me. Harnesses and spoons tipped with half a worm. Dipseys, riggers and lead core all worked.
  25. New price, $1900. It’s sitting in my garage and needs a new home.
