    I did some testing. A working transducer shows zero continuity between the 3 xtcr pins The head unit shows a fluctuating ac voltage of up to 200v on my meter from any of the 3 xdcr pins. And zero volts ac when sonar is stopped. A quick voltage test on the head unit should point you in the right direction.     When your carb was rebuilt, did you just put it back on. Or did you set idle mixture and speed? Sounds like you idle mixture is to rich. What do you plugs look like? If they are black. Its too rich. Your timing could also be off. Sent from my moto g(6) using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    another Great day out of hughes. Only had a few hours to fish this morning. Off the water by 9:30. But Once the sun came up a bit the 100 foot line was hot, even tho the weather was not.     This is just my opinion but. Get the biggest screen you can afford, and get something with nmea 2000. That way if you want to add autopilot or another screen later you can. Also think about buying used. The price is a 1/2 the cost of new. Other than that. Manufacturer is personal preference. All the major manufactures make good stuff Go some place like west Marine and try some out. I hope this helps. Oh.     Change interval is more important than the oil manufacturer. It's not a high rpm. Or high compression engine. It's also not run in extreme weather conditions.
