  1. No they don't. I tie the rope off at the widest part of the boat. I don't tie them off in front of the steering wheel. Buckets don't work as well as bags, especially with heavier fiberglass boats.
  2. I agree 100%! It makes me wonder if they are taught to buzz right along side fishing boats at full speed. How much trouble would I get into if I shoot them with a paintball gun?
  3. I might have one, excellent condition, never used it because I bought it to have as a spare.. I'll check later this morning.
  4. 1" holes are fine. Don't run them past the transom of the boat. Keep them in front of the transom and where they won't get in the way of netting fish.
  5. What is the max motor hp listed for your boat? My 19ft aluminum Sea Nymph was rated at 140hp max but it ran 36 mph with a 1986 Evinrude 2 stroke 90hp, and it seemed like plenty of motor for a 19ft aluminum boat. A 150hp 4 stroke seems like too much motor for a 19ft boat, but I don't know for sure. My 22ft Crestliner Sabre uses a 150hp Evinrude 2 stroke with a 15x17 prop. Sorry I can't be more help.
  6. I've considered getting one from Tractor Supply. They have one that is 12'W x 20' L x 8' H with a round top, $499 I think. They also have one that is bigger, but I can't remember the size or price.
  7. This was supposed to be the year that I didn't "need" anything for my boat. But, I have replaced my Lowrance HDS 8 with an HDS 9 Gen 3. I also added a 2nd solar panel on the roof. I also added two dual rod holders on the gunwales (Great Lakes Planers brand), a dual Big Jon rod holder at the stern, two vertical triple rod holders on the gunwales (also from Great Lakes Planers), replaced both Cannon manual riggers with two Cannon Mag 5ST riggers with adjustable booms, rigger covers and new tackle. I sold some things to help pay for the new items. I'm glad I didn't actually "need" anything for my boat this year
  8. That's cool now, but I'll bet it was a nervous moment when it happened
  9. Radio first, then the horn. If that failed to get his attention I might make a big turn to Port and complete the 360* turn once I think I cleared his lines. He might be a charter boat with no mate. He might have auto pilot, or a customer steering the boat. Or, he might be one of those guys who thinks he owns the lake...
  10. Are those your rigger weights around 95 & 110? Do you have your transducer oriented to face back, rather than straight down? If so, it distorts the shape of the fish arches. I think it's a cluster of fish, just a few Lakers hugging bottom.
  11. Are you talking about the NYS adventure license that has a symbol on it for the different outdoor activities such as lifetime hunting/fishing/archery/muzzleloader/empire pass/boaters safety course? This... https://dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/nys-adventure-license
  12. Someone doesn't have a boarding ladder, and needs this one
  13. You're welcome! Just trying to make it easier for everyone. This is the course my son took a few years ago. I sat there with him because I wanted a refresher course. It's amazing how much we forget over the years.
  14. http://www.boatus.org/newyork/ This course is free and self-paced.
  15. Some Boaters, especially the sailboat crowd, get too wrapped up in who has the "right of way". If all boaters would practice more "common courtesy and respect" for each other, it would solve a lot of issues.
  16. My boat sits so high out of the water, I'll need to have a step ladder to get from the dock into my boat, unless the water is at least a foot below the top of the wall.
  17. This was Hidden Harbor marina August 9th this year
  18. This was Hidden Harbor marina back in May this year
  19. If nothing else, at least this thread is a good discussion, and reminder of the rules (insert angry sailboat person emoji here )
