  1. Got caught in the north wind storm Friday evening, I know the trench is legendary for its sudden storms, but I NEVER want to relive making our way around the island to get back in. Been out a thousand times but only the fourth time for my father and I in the Thompson. They handled it awesomely ~ I on the other hand had to throw out my underwear;-). Sunday morning was like glass, no fish hawk;-( , but it seemed they were still sitting on bottom, had limited time, got a few browns to fire in mid range [ Post made via iPhone ]
  2. Headed up to Henderson tomorrow morning to do some fishing. Was up there labor day and did well. My father usually fishes for eyes and the fish hawk is broken on the boat so if anyone has a resent report on the trench it would be apreciated. Every one was doing them down low and was wondering if the thermo is still down there? Any info on eyes would be apreciated also. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  3. Thanks for the post. Was up there the weekend before last and did well also. Did you find the thermo still ne'er the bottom? Unfortunately the boat I'll be on tomorrow has a broken fish hawk ;-( [ Post made via iPhone ]
  4. Hey long line~ seemed like a steelhead day for us also west of you ~ think 3 or 4 of them mixed in with some lakers and kings [ Post made via iPhone ]
  5. Hey Chris I tried to pm you. Let me know if you don't get it. Doing this via iPhone takes a little getting used to [ Post made via iPhone ]
  6. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:jason ~ My Mink ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4th Time on Water:5~830 Weather/Temp:Hot Wind Speed/Direction:weathermans 10 out of the west lol Waves: caps Surface Temp: Location:sandy creek LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated:6 Species Breakdown:kings Hot Lure: dodger fly Trolling Speed: All over with that current Down Speed: all over Boat Depth: 100~200 Lure Depth: deep ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS. After a week of great fishing and doing a constant string of Majors we finally put one on the summer derby board. We were out on the water before anyone I could c and started with a major right off the start on a slow inward turn. Fighting the current (as usual) always makes line angles so much fun right Jermey???. A steady pick with only a few lake snakes and around 8:30 the wire takes hit like a freight train. Have to say it gave more fight and more runs than any other major this year. Thanks for the boats near us giving the room we asked for~ my arms would have fallen off if we couldnt have circled. Weighed 30 on the boca scale ~ by the time we figured out that no one was going to show up at Sandy to open the Marina and weigh our fish ;-( she dropped to 28 1/2 9th place on the board. Thanks Jermey and Don for a awesome 4th. And thanks to my brothers girlfriend for not letting him go fishing today so we only have to split the prize money 3 ways!!! Lmao. I'll ask jermey to post pics~ for the life of me I can't figure how to do that via iphone ==================== [ Post made via iPhone ]
  7. Nice post, I'm the one that took your picture when we weighed in our derbey fish. Stay in touch, Jason [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: brothers boat ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4/1 Time on Water:8-11 am Weather/Temp:cold as hell! Wind Speed/Direction:out of the s west Waves: none Surface Temp: 41-43 Location:315 LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated:6 Species Breakdown:browns and a descent king Hot Lure:sticks Trolling Speed: alot slower thing king speed Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: surface 2 foot down on the rigs ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Nothing like on the first of April to have a fish hit the stick bait and everone wonder what the hell is taking 200ft (on ten pound test) and jumping like a rocket behind the boat lol. Definately made our day! Great fishing , 2 browns around 10 and the king im going to say was 12-15 pnds respectively. This time of year it was like c ing a buck come out of the the woods opening day, i swear it was 32 pnds and 4 1/2 foot long before it was netted;-). Anyone know how to change passwords? i havnt been on so long i had to get a new one and would like to change it back to something simple
  9. Now Im no expert but I believe that people who troll a lot will run a number hotter to try to avoid build up in there engines from low rpm for hrs and hrs. Done this and it seemed to work~ but again a good carb or Valve adjustment prob do the trick also [ Post made via iPhone ]
  10. Is that a cat your holding? Dont tell me that came out of stoney lol
  11. Boat is fishing the Henderson derby today. Make offer
  12. Any one know off hand the legth slot for lakers? I might eat one of the darn things if i get a floater. BTW went out of bear creek with my brother and as we were setting lines the DEC pulled up along side us and asked us produce our liscences. We got them out, held them up and they told us good enough and good luck in the derby. Well that was easy
  13. A atlantic is always a prize. congats. Whats the flag for? so we know your not a lof out in 350ft?
  14. Put wire on it and be done with it. I'm guessing 80% use wire. Are u using a snubber??? If so loose it and u will loose less fish. We run this set up and I can't remember the last time a fish was droped on the wire. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  15. am listing this for my father. I will leave the house number and cottage number for him. This is a 26ft twin screw penn yan fly bridge.Well we took the flybrige off cause of the bridge to the cut in Henderson but we still have it if you want it. I think it looks pretty dam cool without it. Located in Henderson Harbour, 1974,26ft , 9ft beam (or longer?).225 engines, one engine replaced with a jasper engine 3 years ago. Im guessing under a hundred hrs on it. And one engine done over about the same time. comes with 2 extra holly carbs, all 4 have been rebuilt recently. new props paid over a thousand. Wiring and everything redone. interior is original but in good shape. I think the hull has under 600 actual hrs on it. This is a turn the key(s) and go boat. All work has done by the old man and nothing was overlooked. No fishing gear comes with it except i think cannon mounts. Ill guess that in the last 4yrs almost double the asking price has been put in this boat. Dad bought a smaller boat he can handle a little better by himself or a unknowledgible crew. Picture of the front bow is just missing water line paint cause the old man couldn't reach that far but will be done. Asking 5 grand. or best offer. You could call me but your better off talking to him. steve home 585 3772820 steve cottage 1315 938 5266 me (jason) 585 281 3204
  16. Just wanted to share a couple of pics.1rst is a Atlantic (was no hope in reviving it) caught the last Sat of the derby with Don And Jermey off of 'My Mink" out of sandy creek. The other is a Laker my brother caught going out of the river the last Sunday of the derby and missed the board by a pound.
  17. Thats my little brother. He has shot some big deer , but when he walked up he was thinking he shot comet or dancer or vixen not many other deer in full velvet this time of year that we know of . ill run the doe idea across him tomorrow i think its still hanging in his garage at the moment, but i cant c him missing this feild dressing it. Just as impressive was the weight.
  18. thank u for the report. Might go up next weekend to the parents place. do you know if there still doing lakers up there? Not my first pick but easier on the old man to reel in
  19. thanks for the report. been out of town awhile and going to go out of the river in a hour so your report def helps
