We flew to Anchorage and rented an RV and traveled to Denali, Fairbanks, Seward, and Homer. We spent 20 days in the RV in September at reduced rates of $90 a day spit between 2 couples . We had a great time and caught salmon, grayling, rainbows and dollies on our own for very little cost. It was to late for good salmon fishing but we got to see a lot of beautiful country and lots of wildlife. We also hooked up with a former student that took us for a couple days of halibut fishing. You could always hire guides or stop at resorts if you desired. It was nice to be able to set our own schedule and do it on the cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

As Prof T said we have limited our posting due to excessive pressure on good spots and people following us. Early on I shared a lot of information but recently have pulled back. That said I have met some great folks on this site and made some long standing friends. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Always interested in Justin’s take on things. If you put in the time and constantly experiment you’re likely to come up with some successful techniques. Justin is always very willing to share ideas and exchange information. Glad we met on this site and hope to share a trip someday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I never thought of that but I have caught them in Cape Cod off Monument Flats, and Orleans. There I used jigs with zoom flukes, strips of squid, mudminnows or sand eel. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Diamond Island shoal is also a possibility. Actually most buoy markers near the main channel have potential. You could likely catch fish on most of those markers but those that have longer shelves with current are easier to fish and likely more productive. I have many places I hit. If I find bait I give it a couple passes. If no bait I move on. If you hit a fish keep on that areas till it stops producing, then move on. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

There’s a decent long troll from Whiskey Island shoal up to Sand Island shoal out in channel not to far from Krings. I’ve trolled it with riggers and you can stay in 30-46 fow range for a fairly long troll. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
