  1. Darn I'll be away from Friday- Wednesday. Be there after I return. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Lay all day in a muddy field with hundreds of all types of decoys out. Thousands flew over high but few even gave us a look. Tough birds to fool. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  3. Still looks like lots of jam ice floating down the channel. Warmer weather and rain may open up some spots but guys were on the ice in French Creek yesterday. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  4. I also don't use split shot when in shallow but do use them 5-6 feet in front of spoons and sticks in deeper water. Need to be careful letting spoons out or on turns if in shallow as they may snag. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  5. Hopefully after a couple more very cold nights things will turn around and ice will go fast. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  6. Sounds like it will be a while before we can get back out. Thought we were in for a nice early spring when I got out Feb. 28th but things have certainly changed. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  7. We tried today and came up empty. Saw lots of Canadas, some snows and ducks but none coming to us. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  8. Hard to believe the river was wide open a month ago and now looking out toward Canada there is ice as far as the eye can see. With cold nights forecast for the next week I don't think boats will have access and I certainly wouldn't trust the ice. Hope the perch are around when the ice decides to leaves. 9. Sk8, Yep, some was my dads, some perhaps his dad's and a bunch I acquired over time. Some is from Prof T when he did a clean out this winter. I'm sure it nostalgic to many in our age group. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  10. Prof T, You picked a good time to be south. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Thanks Landshark. Already had a couple offers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. I have bunch of old lures that I'm looking to sell as they are just sitting around. Not sure of the value and was wondering where I might get them priced or sold.uu Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  13. Landshark, Let me know if you see a weather break on the horizon. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  14. I agree with Landshark. I use 12lb. Mono for Browns and walleyes for sticks and spoons. 12 lb. Nanofill for jigging with barrel swivel and fluorocarbon leader and the same for bottom bouncers with spinner. Trolling walleyes on the SLR however is a whole different game with different set up and gear. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Figures we'd only get one opportunity and then winter would return. Wind, snow and rain along with cold temperatures in forecast for the next two week! At least with ice gone you only need a small window. Anxious to get out again. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Thanks for the post. Saved me a trip down tomorrow. May try walleyes at Ogdensburg instead. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  17. What a great and insightful video of our fisheries. We need to protect what we have. Thanks for sharing! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  18. Fishing from Lund Alaskan. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Made our first trip to the lake today after returning from the Keys last week. Landshark and Randy joined me. Slow but steady pick with some quality fish. Had 8 in the box when we decided to pack it in and had two hangers so ended going 10 for 10 with last one released. Broke out an old school fire plug which was productive. 20. Saw a post of a 14.55 lb caught at Chaumont. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  21. I heard a wheeler went through at Chaumont launch, Eel Bay and Perch River. Be careful! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  22. Doubt if it's good. I fished LOTI today and there was 6-8" of honeycomb type ice. It was also beginning to break up some at the launch. Also heard someone dropped through at Chaumont yesterday and with more warm weather next week things will be sketchy. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  23. One day ice fishing on Chaumont Bay we caught about 10 burbot. They were up on a rocky shoal. By the way they were very good eating. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  24. I heard of a 22 lb laker taken in Chaumont Bay yesterday. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  25. Always wanted to see a predatory bird working. My late season never panned out as I had family commitments and never got to hunt late Canada or Western zone. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
