i have no problems with my 8 hp long shaft electric start tohatsu. It has always started and ran great in winter spring summer and fall. runs all day on little gas and always gets me back when my force doesn't start. You won't have any problems finding parts for them either

I had same problem. Mine was the starter. Had it rebuilt for 40 bucks and problem solves

I start at 1.7 mph and see if they like that. Zig zag and see if they are bitiing at the slower or fast stick baits and adjust

I have an 89 17' 6" spectrum. love it. I don't have any issues with the boat. doesn't leak any water even being in the water for days when it comes out and pull the plug nothing comes out. By the way my bilge is on a manual switch not a float. I have mine set up just like the pic above except my riggers are back a little more and i have berets tracks. I even have the plastic scotty mounts he has.

Ive been using my clam voyager for years and it still looks like new. No holes in the fabric. Only down fall is because it is so big its heavy especially when loaded full of stuff. That wont be a problem if you have a machine to pull it. Im thinking about a 1 man clam this year. I thought buying a pop up instead of a flip over to travel light would be the way to travel light but them popups arent for me. They suck in any wind. i used them but they come off easy. well not the ones with the swivel like in the link but regular drop shots i bought from gander mountain. They're nice so you don't snap off everything on a snag but pull off and just slide a new one on. I like to put a heavier lb line on for the drop shot to grip better.

nice fish sean. I wish I could have gotten up there this morning but i went walleye fishing like an idiot instead.

I got out this morning with a few buddys out of the catt from wish to noon. picked up 1 walleye and dropped 2 others a few white bass, a few sheepshead and a perch. Didn't do good at all seeing how we were on a charter. We had plans on getting our limits and filling the freezer but instead we got 1 meal. We fished 60 for a few miles east of the catt. I might bring my boat back and give it a shot next weekend because i know I can do better on my own. As we heard on the was it was slow for everyone so I'm giving our captain the benefit of the doubt. oh well thats fishing.

I was reading the june 2012 issue of great lakes angler when i came across the section "basics and beyond" on page 16. They have an article about UV protective clothing. I was throwing around the idea of the sun maskby buff that they feature. I guess it will take some getting used to but I am always getting burnt to a crisp with or without sunblock when im out on the lake. Ill probobaly get one to try even if I look like complete idiot wearing it but I wanted to see if anyone else has tried these out yet.

I use the rope lure for them when i fished for them when i lived in pittsburgh. They will eat anything and you could always tell when a gar was chewing on your bait or if it was a catfish. I also caught them on cut bait but you really have to let them chew on the bait and work it down that long beak and swallow the hook. Im looking to try my luck with walleye this sunday. My father wants to catch them bad and I know they are there but Im just looking for a few pointers. Im gonna launch in the SBH or erie basin marina. My plan is to launch the boat by 4AM and fish untill 8 or 9 or when they stop bitting. I plan to troll for them with stick baits off my big boards in shallow water. My question is how shallow are they gonna be. I was thinking 5 to 10 ft but with this warm spring I dont want to be in the wrong depth. I could also go for the evening bite which ever would be recommended. Please PM any info that may offend or giveaway info indicating more specific spots. I appreciate the help. -Eric

id get a portable tank and secure it and use it like that. sounds expensive when you start cutting things like that. good luck
