  1. I just picked one up today im going tomorrow for a 32 gb sd card cant wait to use mine. I didnt realize how short the videos will be maybe ill get 2 sd cards. Have you guys seen the underwater video clip in the niagara river. its pretty cool. Im gonna try to mount mine on my planer board mast and then work on something different.
  2. some electricians will say everything runs on smoke and when you let the smoke out it is destroyed/dont work.
  3. My boat will go slow and kinda bog down at full throttle and the bow goes up and untill i get weight up there or start out with weight distributed properly then it will pick up speed and get on plane. Kinda sounds like my problem if i reas it right...to much weight in the rear of the boat [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Try trolling slower i lik 1.8 to 2.1 mph for browns [ Post made via Android ]
  5. if your not already set up for dipsys i wouldnt dump the money on them for a few day trip this early in the year, when the fish are in shallow. but thats just my opinion
  6. You dont have to buy rapalas. i like to troll thunderstick jrs and smithwicks (both shallow divers).
  7. I run my fish finder and radios off my starting battery and never had a problem. just start the engine every hour or so and run the engine and charge up the battery. Putting a 2nd battery wouldnt be the worse idea but you would have to rewire things and may be a complete hassle. I have an extra battery on my boat for my electric trolling motor where worse case scenerio i can just my starting battery with the 2nd battery...or start my kicker motor. It might be a cheaper and better idea to get one of them jump box's to jump your battery if you drain the battery im sure it is cheaper to buy one of them over buying a new battery. Just make sure the jump box is charged before you go out.
  8. I'm gonna order them from amishoutfitters.com I think they're 159.00. I think I'm gonna buy a bag of them clipper releases too. [ Post made via Android ]
  9. I think ill go with the red wood boards and snubbers. I really like that they fold up because my homemade ones didn't fold up and took up a lot of room and ultimately paid the price. How do these boards hold up in turns my inside board always stalled out on a big turn/ turn around or in biggeer waves didn't work for crap. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. Ive been looking at buying these. I see they come in plastic or redwood. is there any difference in the 2 besides 10 dollars? Also Do these boards fold up or collapse in anyway? I dont care if they dont collapse but I think I would like it if they did because my last set of boards didnt collapse and they got bent and didnt run right then I destroyed them today. Is anyone running these boards using the shock absorbers that amish outfitters sells for them?
  11. I run mine year round. In the winter when I pull out like rustyrat said I crank my motor over a few times (a second or 2) just dont start it and that will blow the water out and thats it.
  12. Happy birthday brian [ Post made via Android ]
  13. I figured they were gone. I got the boat out of wrights landing and had time to kill so i figured id go over there and buy some more stuff and after i circled the block 3 times and called i figured they closed the oswego shop. Ill get in to fair haven in may. thanks for the info shadster
  14. I tried to find screwy louies in oswego and couldbt find it and the phone was disconnected are they only running the fair haven store? [ Post made via Android ]
  15. Its 91 octane that is has no ethanol. But the noco on hamburg turnpike has 91 octane with no ethanol too. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. before you change the battery pull it out and bring it to autozone and have them check it.it should have a full charge to be tested accurately. I have interstate batteries on my boat.
  17. I charge mine off my kicker when the big motor isnt charging it
  18. JeffM i have no ties to obersheimers but they are very great to deal with. Ask for Paul when/if you decide to go through them. He will tell you everything you want to know. Like I said they will do the start up and tank test everything if something needs tuned or whatever they will do it free. For 70 dollars they will store your outboard for winter and also go over it and clean it and tune it up for you. They are a tohatsu dealer so no matter where you buy the engine they will service it. They will fire up a motor at the shop there if they have one in and you can check it out. The only thing they told me to do is when im done pull the fuel line out of the motor and run it out of fuel everytime to keep the carb from gumming up. They also gave me a bottle of fuel treatment/stabilizer when I bought my outboard.
  19. I have a tohatsu 8 hp (same motor as the 9.8 just need to redo the carb to up the hp) like the others say it trolls all day on a 3 gallon tank of gas. I was going to get mine from online outboards but I went to obersheimers sailor supply in buffalo on niagara st. They're a tohatsu dealer and they did the original start up and ran it and made sure everything was good before they delivered the motor. They will price match online outboard but you pay NYS sales tax. I'm kinda crazy on maintaining the motor and changing the fluid and keeping it clean but I just want this motor to last. I have a 2011 model from this past spring. I also have the electric start/pull start with charging system and it is a long shaft. This motor always starts right up with the electric and 1st pull...hardly even give it a pull and its running. Very quiet. Can't compare it to a yamaha or honda because I've never used them but I am very happy with my tohatsu. Just make sure there is a deale/mechanic that will work on it nearby. I go to the dealer for any questions but I asked the guy that fixes my force and he will not work on it even though he is a merc mechanic and tohatsu makes mercs under 40 hp [ Post made via Android ]
  20. Im looking to take my Dad out walleye fishing in Port Clinton Ohio. We plan to charter a trip, I have looked at a bunch of websites but I want to make the right choice and go with the best. Does anyone have any suggestions? Looks like everyone drift fishes out there rather than troll for them, I personally dont care how we catch them as long as were catching them. PM me if you dont want to post specific info, charters or websites etc.
  21. you are entitled to a 3 fish limit (over 15") per person fishing with a NYS fishing license on the boat. So you dont have to throw back everything you catch
  22. nice walleye john. I wanted to get back up there but this winter sucked for ice fishing. I think last weekend was then end for me. Now im just getting more rods set up for the boat and itching to get some of them browns
  23. when i pull my boat out of the water in the winter i crank the motor over a few seconds and then wrap everything up tilt motor up and drive off

The fish were on fire yesterday. Between 4 of us we all got our limits and more plus a bunch of ciscos that were tossed back. Went out with randys huts out of pefferlaw. All the fish werent the lake simcoe jumbos like everyone else gets but we still got a few really big guys. It was non stop action hours then it would slow alittle then non stop again. fished from about 8 untill 530.
