  1. Nice work guy. Shade, come on, your usually on em big. Great work guys. Way to keep the rods movin.
  2. make sure the "slow trolling" option is enabled.
  3. Well found out I got a canvas cover for it already. I was looking more for something vinyl like, ala, Ranger travel cover. I had one from my old tin boat that I really liked. Good travel cover, and could snap on when I leave the boat in the water.
  4. Yep, a few of my peeps out of ohio like the scotty release but with 30lb mono instead of the factory stuff. Regular releases will work if you use the rubberband trick. end over end on the main line, then clip the tag loop to the release,. Works pretty good from what I hear. Have a great vaca with the bro.
  5. Yes, indeed it was fun. Not fancy at all, but nice to have some grits behind ya. Better still Mr. Fancy Ass! HA! Had the kings today. 1 with pesto, garlic and lemon olive oil and one with Andre Reed BBQ sauce. Wow, each were good.
  6. Thanks buddy. Its the riggers that confuse me. Nice pattern though. Right off the bottom. Dont you cats bounce the bottom for lakers and browns? Ahh yes, thermocline.
  7. Ran out to lake erie on sunday for a quick shakedown and decided to drop a few riggers for some fish I seen at 35 to 40 feet in 52 to 57FOW. Figured they may be walleye. I got picked off 2x (got the bait with no hook up on a harness). I essentially had out about 25 feet of 20lb trilene xt. Wondering if I should be longer. Plus the release, although perfect for salmon, seemed kinda stiff for the walleye. I probably need a easier/better release sysem. Was using the 10 lb ball, but thought at such a slow speed, I can get away with a 8lb or less. Lastly can I run a two rod spread with the rigger? Keep in mind, I relatively new at this. Thought maybe a harness on the bottom (near ball) one, and spoon or stick bait on top. Any suggestions would be great.
  8. We took a quick launch out of hanover (sunset) this morning. Winds were ok early, then started to build nicely. We drowned from worms for a few hours mainly working the 50 to 55 foot range. We got skinned a couple of times, but no fish to show for it. Did mark fish from 25 to 35 down in some spots, with others right at the 45 to 50 foot range.
  9. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated:4 Species Breakdown:2 kings, 1 laker, 1 steelie Hot Lure: 42 Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS =================== Oh what a fun time. Been the leadcore monkey for some time. Finally picked up the rig, and decided to take the 10 yo old for the shakedown. Many thanks to slippery sinker. Stopped in and got a few "recommended" spoons and we were off. Boat worked out great and had a fun time on the water. It seemed to be easy to take a salmon rig and fish for walleye, then vice versa. See you on the south shore soon.
  10. I am getting a flashback to an old girlfriend who drunk text'd me all the time... HA!
  11. My sauger limerick from the midwest.. I decided I didnt want to work, and figured I would lurk, I didnt need a auger, to fish for sauger in the deep illinois murk,
  12. There could be a leak in the line. If the bulb is collapsing, there may be something on the fuel pickup line. Or a leak between the bulb and the motor.
  13. Just seen this blip in my current issue of infisherman (right next to the bay of quinte...). Rice Lake considered Lake Fork of the North. Lots of great bass. How about your top 5 bass lakes within a decent drive of Buffalo (3 hours or less). Oneida Rice Lake (newly added) Erie Buffalo Erie Barcelona Erie Northeast PA.
  14. Did end up with rainbow, 2 solid rips on the dipsey, and a skip. Beautiful day on the water. Whats with all that pollen (or at least I am hoping it was). The motor was covered in yellow dust.
  15. Launched without light Hoping for a king bite But the moon was bright They fed at night And they didn't have an appetite [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  16. Oh, and I will be posting my salmon haiku (perhaps limerick a better word) shortly. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  17. No problem Ray. Experiencing the quirkiness right now. Beautiful water, surface temps perfect at 63, plenty o bait balls, temp 41 to 44, nice hooks around it, and nuttin. Off misseaugua with Gavin. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  18. 20 foot boat. Looking for a place thats makes a canvas or similar cover. Snaps. What canI expect to pay? Also, I imagine they can make a bow cover.?
  19. You hit the nail on the head Paul. Walleyes are super easy to catch. Kings a little different. Had some fun last weekend as an observer at the OO Proam. Great shootin the sheet with all those salmon fisherman. Plus you can blame Kgonefishin (kevin) for draggin me out to Olcott in the summer. My salmon prospects improved once I volunteered as the "lead core" monkey. Gill T has taken me out too. Gavin has also taken me out a few times (we are heading out tomorrow also). So, I am working on getting a program I a comfortable with.
  20. Thanks for the heads up. I am a walleye guy by trade and figured I better start taking advantage of all the great natural resources out here in western ny.
  21. So, deeper in july/august and shallower in May/June. Primarily a spooner here. But here is my thought. I look for the warmer water to find bait balls. Then rigger down to the 48 to 52 below the bait looking for aggressive kings. Am I close?
  22. I will tell ya there it is not for the lack of folks trying. Didnt fish, but got some dinner at Hoaks in Hamburg, than stopped at Dock of the Bay for some cold ones. (I have a soft spot for those 3 Olives Vodka girls... ) Anyaway, counted a dozen boats working the area in front of the windmills, a couple of boats in front of woodlawn, and about 5 in front of hamburg beach. All trolling and doing the nite bite thing. So, plenty of lines in the water. Buffalo news had a good fishing report on Wednesday.
  23. Winnebago is shallow, no deeper than 20 feet. I wanna say 21 miles long and 11 miles wide. Its part of the big chain, so tons of water to fish. The first thing I noticed about Oneida was the pickle shape and immediately was drawn to the shallows, like winnebago. Oneida is far more complex, but the similarities to bago are there.
