  1. Correction..... the drill that I was using was a 1/2" not a 3/8"
  2. Just wanted to report that I did purchase these handles and used them yesterday. They worked great !! The drill that I used was a craftsman 19.2v 3/8 drill. Unfortunately I didn't fire a rod so I brought up both riggers with no problems only once. Not sure how many times you can bring up the riggers before the battery dies. Also I'm using 13lb rigger weights
  3. Ordered today..... will post as soon as I can
  4. Put a phone call in to Screwy Louies, they want 300-350/rigger !! That's seems like alot of dough. Put a call into the guy from the youtube video, he claims his ball in the video is 10lb and alot for his friends use his device on 12-15 lb balls.... for $50 might be worth a try.... still wondering if anyone out there has used these
  5. I believe you can keep more than one steelhead as long as it's over 21", other members correct me if I'm, wrong. The syllabus says "3 in any combination not to include more than 1 rainbow trout (or steelhead) in the tributaries" 1 fish if you're fishing in a tributary, up to 3 fish if you're fishing on the lake ??
  6. Gil what did they charge you per rigger ?? thanks
  7. Has anyone seen or used these ?? Any other thoughts to powering up manuals besides buying electric rigger ?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrXoa8fFzpM
  8. congrats on your first king, it's a great feeling huh !?
  9. I'm not sure... purchased them 1.5 yrs ago..... my rigger weights are 13 lbs an and haven't had an issue
  10. Two (2) releases, used only one season. $30 for the pair. Available for pickup in the Mexico area or the Utica/Rome area False releases and small fish that are not detected are the two major problems with downrigger fishing. The Chamberlain release from Northern Strike is designed to eliminate both of these problems with its patented two adjustment design. First, the vertical (rod side) adjustment is unique in that it allows the fisherman to put extra downward pressure on the rod which allows you to load it against the release. This is critical because the instant a fish trips the release , the slack between the rod and the fish is removed much more quickly resulting in much better hook-sets. This gives the fisherman an almost instant hook up. Second, the horizontal (fish side) adjustment is very sensitive and needs only a small adjustment to achieve the precise setting. The Chamberlain release is so sensitive that when properly adjusted it can take only ounces of extra drag (caused by small fish, debris or a strike) to release the line. Features: Verticle & Horizontal Adjustments Exact Setting Every Time Adjustable from 0 ~ 4.5 lbs. Ends False Releases Detects Every Stike Minimizes False releases Small Fish Friendly
  11. Dave I think we passed you cause thats the area we were fishing but didnt go to the high. I think we had limited out and were heading when we passed u by roughly at the A frame around 11'ish
  12. Hit the water at 5:30am and fished till 11. Went 6 for 6 on browns, largest four were 11, 8, 6 and 5 lbs. Riggers and cores on boards with all fish taken on spoons. Ran smithwicks but didn't move a rod. Special thanks to Captain Rick from DreamsComeTrue charters who was onboard
  13. Was on the lake today from 6:30 to 11:30. Ran a 6 rod spread with F/F on the riggers... dispeys and spoons on the wire and a cheater on each rigger. Started in 90 fow trolled out to 180 fow and then back to 150. was marking bait most of the morning, as well as marking fish up and down the column. Only had one rod fire and boated a shaker king. ((((

  15. I found a marine surveyor that charged me $200 and that was an inspection of a few boats. The question you have to ask yourself is $200 worth the piece of mind you get. The boat I purchased cost 15k and IMO it was worth every cent to know what I was purchasing was in excellent condition. The big issue is water in the hull, transom ect.. where you have to worry about rot
  16. I have an '04 4.3L mercruiser engine that does the same thing, after you come out of idle you bump bump bump the throttle and nothing. bump bump bump then it takes off there's no in between. I have been told that that's the way it's supposed to be. I so have to adjust my trim up and down and sometimes use trolling bags to get my speed. If you find out otherwise I'd be happy to hear !!
  17. I have a Trophy with an I/O and last year I put her in on 3/17. There were days when I went fishing and had frost on the windshield. I was told as long as the water temp was 40 or above that that would help keep the water from freezing and my boat has a doghouse that insulates the motor as well, didn't have a problem last year
  18. If you're able to mount thru the gunnel, take a look at the big john raised dual rod holders
  19. I would recommend Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key http://www.hawkscay.com/florida-keys-fishing-charters
  20. this is what i'm attempting to reproduce.... i have the fish scale and ladder back, not sure if auto paint comes in chartreuse, maybe it does
  21. I thought I'd give it a try but not sure exactly how to go about it the right way. Do I need an airbrush, or a regular paint brush, type of paint ?? Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated
  22. What type of video camera are you guys using rshubuck ?? Thanks

  24. Was hoping someone knew of a mechanic that would come to the dock to look at two minor issues. The boat is docked at Clarks Marina in Port Ontario. The issues are : 1. Boat diesels when I come back to the dock and turn off the engine 2. Throttle issue... when boat is kicked into gear and I try to increase my speed by tapping the throttle, the throttle moves but no increase in speed.... if I continue to tap it eventually wants to go fast, doesn't seem like there's an in between Thanks !
