  1. sad one didn't make it the other two got lucky . there was a small craft advisory with up 20 knots wind . who goes out in a kayak in water like that .
  2. i am no pro but here is my take i think in a couple weeks it will be down to combat trolling off the mouth of the rivers . ( not my cup of tea rather fish the finger lakes )the cold rain and weather this week will pull the salmon in fast now . there will be off shore fishing for steel heads and two year old salmon . this time off year the lake get rough fast with the weather changes. most guys start pulling their boats mid September.
  3. nice, when i went by Saturday they were working on the road . i seen boats coming in the inlet and jumping back up on plane . was wondering if the idle speed been lifted .. thanks Hank .
  4. the north launch is open the south one is closed . the north launch road in is a little rough in a short spot .( due to the high water) i can get my saber down the road with no problem..

  7. i am planning on being in god willing and we don't get a hurricane , long weather reports looking good .

Port Bay fished 6:00 to 1:00. set up in 70 foot found cold water down 50 foot was around 49 degs . ran riggers and dipsy .rigger down 50 to 70 dipsy out 120 to 220 ft . fished out to 200 and back in ,went 5 for 6 all kings and had no majors .was spoons and flasher fly bite for us to day was bumpy with 3 plus footers but by 10 ish was down to a foot . going to be a little to rough for me the rest of the weekend so looks like i am done on Ontario , been a great season and hope it's the same next year . i am now looking forward to the Cayuga lake derby the 9 and 10th next weekend . good luck to those that keep fishing the big lake and stay safe ..
  9. labor day here and the kids going back to school soon and cooler weather the salmon fishing is nearing the end . another summer gone where the time go ..on the up side the finger lake slivers still going on the perch schooling up and deer season here soon ...see ya on the water some place
  10. i have the same boards they are easy to set up and get fishing but nothing like using a planner board mast and boards . i have had them go under the water when a fish hits too . i made my tx -22 board with the weight in the back so the nose of the board rides high in the water and try to make the line in the release will release when the fish hits so the board floats till it slides down to the fish witch should be on the surface . i have not used them on copper someone else will have chime in . good luck on those big fish...

Port Bay fished port bay 8/30 solo ..... 600 to 1 00 .had the lake to myself , the only 2 boat i seen were out deep . set up in 95 foot and trolled north . cold water 55 down ,didn't mark any thing till i hit 200 ft where i found bait and fish .trolled west with with three riggers 80 75 85 . ran j plugs ,spoons , cut bait , flasher fly . had no takers after 2 miles trolling west made a turn and came back east threw the way points i made where i seen good screens . ended with 3 for 3 day all 2 year old fish . all where taken on spin doc. and fly .

  24. one reason that i like a power switch . take the battery out of the truck and go fishing

Port Bay made your way of the bay and hit the lake to 2 to 3 ft roller with small chop on top from the north west not what i was thinking it was going to be .we set up with spoons , spinys and flies and meat .work water 170 to 250 foot . temp was deep 125 to 130 ft down ran riggers at 125 and 135 , dipsy 325 and 350 . mark bait and marks here and there , seem to be around 100 to 120 foot . we went 2 for 7 .had a bad day netting 2 of them and the others come unbutton .
