For me personally, you just can’t beat fall. Salmon off the piers, deer hunting, musky chasing, float fishing and waterfowl(which I haven’t gotten around to yet, but will). Nothing beats that crisp cool air and the opportunities that await. Enjoy some of my highlights so far.
Took my best buck to date this morning. Not a giant, but I was shaking after the shot……and that what it’s all about. I made a perfect heart shot at 20 yards. He trotted 15 yards from the shot, stood there for 10 seconds and fell right over. The deer died in less than 45 seconds. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Time to catch a few fish before gun opens.
Quick sit this morning before work. Had a Tom hammering on the limb as the sun came up which was pretty cool. Ended up seeing 3 raccoons, 5 turkeys(3 Tom’s), and a doe that worked through just inside of 50 yards. Can’t complain. Beautiful morning to be out.
Ended up grabbing three salmon before that storm rolled through, and then the bite died. I had mentioned lake trout to the them, and they said they would like to try and catch a few of those. Pulled all the rods and headed in and worked 80 to 100fow. Put two gambler rigs down on the riggers. Couldn’t keep two rods in the water for the next two hours. They had a blast and were able to cross chinook salmon and lake trout of their list!
A friend asked me if I could take a couple of his friends out from Carolina today. They would really like to catch a salmon. I haven’t been out in awhile. We are going to launch out of braddocks around 3. Anyone doing anything today?
