  1. Got my son out Saturday for the first time trolling. He has been all about fishing lately, as it’s all he talks about lol. We tried 20 to 30fow for kings for awhile, but with the waves from the NE wind I just couldn’t get a good speed. He ended up getting sick and threw up all over. Once I got him cleaned up, I asked if he wanted to go home, and he just said “no, fishy”. I said “you got it buddy” lol. Slid in to shallow water and hit a brown in short order. He was pumped, and we called it a day. This was the first time I got him out about two weeks ago. He was loving it. He isn’t even 2 yet lol
  2. Here is the answer you are looking for for your size 1 chinook running shallow for spring fishing. 30lb braid on your size 20 reel. Then tie in a 5 to 7 ft piece of 14 to 17lb mono and attach a quality swivel. The swivel will attach to the diver. Off the back end of the diver you will run a 5 to 10 foot leader of 12lb fluorocarbon, swivels on both ends (one connected to the diver and the other connects to the lure). Move the weight to the outside holes on both divers. If you are running in 10ft, set the rod to 10 on the reel counter. If you are running 15th, set the rod to 15 on the reel counter…….and so on. You are not running a snubber with these small diver while fishing skinny water. No need.
  3. Launched around 6, and had the spread set right around 6:30. The goal for this morning was some shallow water spring kings. We drove past the prime brown trout water and set up in 20fow. Worked 20 to 25fow from 6:30 to 8 before calling it a morning. Finished 6/6 with 4 browns and 2 kings. Not bad for an hour and a half. Like I said, the inside water was mint for browns. Probably could have smoked them this morning, but that wasn’t the goal. First fish was part of a triple. That fish took a purple bayrat in long shallow off one of the boards. Second fish was another brown that took a chicken wing stinger off the chinook diver 20 back. Third fish was a brown that took an NBK stinger of the chinook diver 25 back. Fourth fish was a nice brown that took an ss dreamweaver in glow frog glow back 15’ down on the rigger. Fifth fish was a king that hit the same spoon on the rigger same depth. Number 6 was the nicest king. Took the chicken wing stinger off the chinook diver 20’ back. Was a successful quick run this morning. Promised the wife I wouldn’t be out long this morning lol. All in all, can’t complain
  4. Beckman or ranger rubber coated
  5. Great night on the water. Finished 21 for 30ish. Fished 10 to 16 fow. Riggers, divers, and boards all took shots. On the riggers we ran dream weaver super slims in green alewife and glow frog with a glow cup 40 and 50 ft back. On the chinook divers we ran dream weaver super slims in sea sick waddler and glow frog silver back. On the boards we ran bayrat short shallows in citric shad and ayu, and also took one on chrome veggie. Outside boards out 120, inside boards 100. Happy fishing

  6. Seem like an easy choice for me. Thanks guys
  7. I did a splashdown trip yesterday and the boat ran great. After coming back to the launch I went to trim the motor up, and it took a lot longer than normal to trim and even stopped halfway up. Upon inspection once I got home, it appeared that I have a hydraulic leak coming from somewhere. The boat is a 2019 alumacraft and has a 2018 Suzuki 150 on it. I’m looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic. Do any of you have any recommendations?
  8. Our season is done here in NY. I learned a lot this season and had some good luck. I got a bunch of friends on their first predators this season. I honestly enjoy calling in animals more for others than I do pulling the trigger for myself. Everything we did this year was with red lights. I may look into night vision or thermal in the future. For the affordability of it though, you can’t beat red lights. My predator hunting season started the day after deer season ended 1/2 and ended closing night 3/26 with a beautiful sit. Here are the totals. Total Outings: 16 Totals Called: 32 red fox 15 coyote Totals killed: 17 red fox 7 coyote Total Missed: 4 red fox 4 coyote
  9. Two beauties in a row Bill!!!
  10. Missed one last night 🤦🏼‍♂️. Came in three minutes into the set to the first sound I played. Very disappointing. However, I had a new visitor on my bait this morning at a different location
