  1. From what I've been told the springwater rod and gun club only stocked about 7500 fingerlings over a period of about 6 years then the DEC wouldn't allow them to stock anymore as they felt it would interfere with their rainbow program. It seems like the bows are doing well but I think the lake could still support a fishable population of eyes. I always mark massive amounts of bait in hemlock and with them not stocking browns anymore I feel that there is room for a few walleye.
  2. Agreed
  3. Last October I was lucky enough to hook into one of the elusive monster hemlock eyes, this guy taped out at 32''. Took it to Scott Samolis taxidermy on cr37 in Honeoye and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. Cellphone pics don't do it justice. Scott also mounted the 22# lake trout we caught on canandaigua 2 years ago and did an awesome job on that fish as well.
  4. drop your price or hold onto it til spring
  5. the same exact question was asked this year at the dec state of the lakes meeting for the western finger lakes. The officers present all agreed that as long as the big motor was completely immobilized that you will be legal.
  6. yes as long as there is no possible way the main motor can be used, meaning prop removed, or spark plugs removed.
  7. 9500$ very motivated please make offers, do not want to store 2 boats this winter.
  8. The boat is a Mint 1994 19ft Islander It has the economical 3.0 Merc with an Alpha one outdrive that pushes the vessel 35 mph. The boat/motor has only just over 100 hours on it. Everything is still like new. Trailer is a galvanized bunk trailer for easy loading and unloading. You don't have to worry about the boat sliding off while you are backing down the ramp. Loads just as easy due to the side bunk guides. You always ends up centered. The boat is pretty well loaded and is ready to fish. There is nothing that is required to fish. I will even included some quality rods and reels (Talora, St. Croix, Tekota's ect) ,TBD during negotiations I bought this late last year from a forum member. I have added and improved upon what I got to make it even better if that was possible. It is super clean and ready to go. I just do not have the time to fish this and have to admit I just will not use it as I had hoped Extras include: (some info from last September per the previous owner) Honda 15hp 4 stroke 25in shaft, electric start, power tilt, Power Trans wireless remote steer (also hardwired incase batteries in remote die), If purchased new this would cost over $6000 for the same set up. Troll all day long on around $20. Super quite and a guy can fish by himself because of the wireless remote steer, it allows you to steer the boat while fighting a fish. Big Jon electric planer reels with dual masts for each side of the boat ($800) Custom canvas cover ($800) I had a second custom 1/2 cover made and side windows (another $1400) that zips/snaps into the bimini top. Lowrance HDS 5 Sonar/GPS with Navtronics chip, super detailed ($700) FishHawk X4 ($650) VHF Radio ($125) 10 Big Jon Rod holders ($1000) Bimini Top ($500) 2 Cannon Mag 20 Riggers, High speed with auto stop. They are mounted on Heavy duty swivel 4" pedestal bases in tracks. ($1000). 2 Cannon Mag 10 Riggers, They are mounted on Heavy duty bases. ($1000). Stilletto Stainless 4 Blade prop ($350) That's $14,500+ worth of extras not even counting the rods, reels, tackle that may be included. Also included are life vests, buoys, ties downs, anchor, downrigger balls, paddle ect Asking $8800 but am open to cash offers in person. My consider holding paper if need be. Test drive/fish for serious buyer. Out of water right now but will arrange launch location if need be I will also consider selling without the kicker, downriggers ect. Open to ideas. Listing for ruger1nut PM me for information or post here 5854726634
  9. For trolling I'd imagine your saltwater rods will work fine
  10. I've tried a lot of different shells but always end up going back to winchester HV bb's for geeese, 3's for ducks. 3'' for both. Most important thing to do is sit down with various shells and shoot paper and see what patterns best out of YOUR gun with the choke you intend on using. All guns throw shot different.

  12. I know a guy selling a real nice copper setup
  13. I shoot the 1 3/8'' grim reapers out of my 60# hoyt maxxis 35 and have no complaints so far. They shoot identical to field points and penetration has been excellent. I shot the 2'' grim reaper white tail specials last year and had had one not pass through on a 20 yard shot on a buck last year that was quartering away, the arrow opened up and failed to exit through the opposite shoulder, the buck went down in less than 30 yards but that was enough for me to go to a smaller diameter, gotta have some power for the larger broad heads in my opinion. this years doe with a 1 3/8 reaper, 20 yards broad side, ran 40 yards and piled up
  14. Read miss em's reports
  15. still plenty of eyes in there panfisher, actually I feel the population is better than it has been in the past 5-6 years. Just very frustrating fishing with all the floating weeds right now. Did some weedwacking for these 3 the other night.
  16. panfisher, I fished honeoye saturday night and it was still a mess. 69degree water temp, tons of floating weeds and very dirty water still.
  17. longer leads have without a doubt increased the # of bites I've had. It helps though being able to backpedal all the way to the bow of my 16' open tiller boat
  18. if fishing solo try setting the rod in a rod holder towards the front of the boat once your dipsy is reeled to the tip and your drag is set so that if the fish wants to run it can run. then you can handline and net while not trying to hold the rod, or just go up 10# heavier to avoid breakoffs as dipsys aren't a stealth approach
  19. I feel that that the kinking associated with putting the wire into a release clip would be asking for snapped lines. Never heard of anyone using wire for downrigging.
