Honeoye is still pea soupish due to the algae blooms and excess weeds [ Post made via Android ]

71 the browns were after the sun went down and there was tons of bait on top with lots of good marks below the bait balls [ Post made via Android ]

Finally got a few 2 browns last night on canadice here's a pic of the bigger one that ate a green spoon on 4 colors of lead. 1 other smaller one on a firetiger rapala and a 1oz snap weight 100' behind a planer board. Got a few lakers down deep on spoons as well [ Post made via Android ]

Hemlock much deeper than Honeoye...maintains a thermocline and foodsource for suspended predator fish very well...ahhh I mean very well, glance at your graph out there Honeoye is a big pond, warm and weedy. Hemlock has the lake feel when you are out there. I am quite sure and know several fisherman that are regulars at Hemlock, if it was stocked yearly the walleyes would likely populate the lake in a short time. The walleyes that come outta there are giants, very thick and well fed. They suspend out deep with the trout and forage. There are enough good walleye fisheries around guys, I'll hang in for a one of a kind trout fishery. I am in total agreement on the outboard restrictions on Hemlock and Canadice, keep up the restrictions!! and I would like to see it patrolled more frequently by the DEC This would discourage the idiots like the one I saw at the launch a few years back from taking home a cooler full of undersized browns. I mean the cooler was full Besides oneida what would you consider a good year round eye fishery? And I was surprised to see the state forest rangers out on their 18' lund with the big outboard on the back patrolling hemlock never seen em on canadice before [ Post made via Android ]

Think what you want. A few hundred dead snows had me more than convinced. 20$ a box ain't bad either, [ Post made via Android ]

I hope to god they never change the regulations on canadice and hemlock for the reason [ Post made via Android ]

If lakers just tasted as good as eyes do after takin a bath in some cracker crumbs and hot butter, this wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue to me lol [ Post made via Android ]

A snow doesn't decoy anything like a canada does up here. You need to be able to reach out and get em and the pmaster/blind side combo is deadly. Like previously stated, why put time and money into scouting, traveling, decoys... only to skimp on the most important thing to have when it comes to putting birds on the ground [ Post made via Android ]

The accessibility is a good point never really thought of that. I would like to see some data regarding survival rates of walleye in honeoye considering they stock it with 8.7million fry yearly and with those numbers you would think honeoye would be a much better walleye lake than it is. I wonder what the survival rate would be like in a much cleaner lake that isn't nearly as pressured and polluted as honeoye [ Post made via Android ]

What got me was while reading through the last dec evaluation of the lake, a majority of the people they surveyed were fishing spring water creek for trout. As well as people paying out of their own pockets(springwater gun club) to put walleyes in there so there is clearly a demand for a more diverse fishery with walleye in there. There are enough trout lakes seneca,daigua,canadice,keuka,cayuga,otisco... and the only one with a good fishable population of eyes I can really think of is oneida. Honeoye(my home lake) is a joke between the bg algae, pleasure boater. Yes you can catch a decent amount of eyes but 50% of the ones you catch are about as thick as a cigar. Hemlock would make for a prime walleye lake with all the food and gravel and clean cold water.... end rant [ Post made via Android ]

Thanks for the help nick [ Post made via Android ] -
Just got into trolling this year and have done well with the lakers and have them dialed in prett well. Generally 2mph and suttons/ white and green colored lightweight spoons fished with a 20' or so lead near bottom have produced. Only landed 1 rainbow on hemlock in close to 30 trips out, what should I be doing when I wanna target the other trout? Pm me if you don't feel like posting I know most that fish these lakes are pretty tight lipped [ Post made via Android ]

Take some of the eyes they dump in honeoye and stock hemlock for a couple years [ Post made via Android ]

I There are guys down there trolling exclusivey for eyes, got the program down and they are boating giants. just don't post anymore. There cannot be many left considering the lake was stocked long ago and I highly doubt they get tossed back I wonder if the dec would rethink the walleye stocking if enough people got together. I went out for a bit last night and the smel alone was enough to gag me. I could smell it while getting gas in town. Ill post some pics tonight if I swing by the lake. It needs to cool down a bit and at least a few weeks before I would attempt to eat anything from the lake. Off to candice for a while [ Post made via Android ]

Same thing down here in the fingerlakes. 6 years ago we never had an issue getting permission. Now everyone wants lots of money for a lease or something along those lines. [ Post made via Android ]

Its unfortunate the DEC won't let the rod n gun club stock walleye in hemlock anymore. I think it would be awesome if hemlock had a fishable population of eyes. [ Post made via Android ]

we use 30lb powerpro and add a 2-4 oz snap weight depending on how much deeper we need to get. I think braid is a must
