    Big walleye

I only ever hear of big ones (8#+) being caught anymore which makes me think that natural reproduction hasn't been occurring yet

    Big walleye

springwater rod and gun club used to stock it yearly with walleye, apparently the DEC polled a bunch of fisherman and decided that they wanted to focus on creating a naturally sustaining rainbow population. After that happened, I guess they pulled Springwaters permit to stock. Personally I would love to see a healthy walleye population in Hemlock, there are tons of trout lakes.

  4. Ive seen guys trolling with 1# weights on a 3 way rig to bounce bottom for lakers and they do pretty well

  6. Lol, looks like I have no excuse now.
  7. sounds like a good time, Ive always wanted to take my 16' up there but 10mph with my little 9.9 would be a pain to get out far enough
  8. keep in mind that the lowrance dsi models ONLY have the down imaging, no traditional sonar. I dont think the imaging will work well for jigging purposes
  9. on humminbirds you can adjust brightness, change backdrop color, change color palates of sonar returns and so on. I keep mine on the same max brightness with a white background and never have issues with visibility
  10. heres a few older shots from my 597
  11. If you can swing an extra hundred or so go for a humminbird 386ci. It's a color unit with built in gps. I have a 597ci hd and love it. It has a flasher mode if you're used to that for ice fishing/jigging. I use it in regular graph mode with the RTS(real time sonar) on the side for jigging and it's awesome. I have no issues picking up a 3/8oz jig in 100' of water while jigging. Gps is also very nice for when you want to run around and mark fish before you actually start fishing them. I'll load up some screen shots when I get time
  12. no walleye left in honeoye, weed killer killed em off
  13. For my 10 color I use about a 15' section of 10# floro and I saw my hook up percentages increased drastically compared to running the 30' of mono that was on it before,
  14. TDD11 - 20 back, 10 - 60 back, 17 - 100 back, 23 - 160 back, 28 - 200 back, maxes out 29
  15. any idea on what the prices are for the flt spoons?
  16. Nice work, what'd ya end up getting for a light rod?
  17. fyi you can get some one piece seven foot medium action ugly sticks at gander or dicks or walmart for twenty dollars right now with a ten dollar rebate. Work great as rigger rods
  18. blacks
  19. Ill sell anything if the price is right
  20. what are you using for a rod? I found that using identical line/leader/tackle set ups, when I used my 7' medium power xfast action baitcaster hooked up much more than my 6'9 medium light power/fast action spinning rod. Just something else to consider.
  21. slobs! nice work
