This is what I am happy to hear. I have everything hooked up in my boat except my hydraulic pump (EV-100 power) because I haven't had my copper pipe cutter the last 2 times I have been up to fish. When you posted about "fishing" in your own boat and only one being able to drive was spot on. I have friends that like to go out but don't know how to do the rigging or drive so it makes it really hard to drive and set up gear. Glad to hear it takes the work out of fishing.

Slow your troll. I have been very successful just by slowing down to 1.7 mph vs 1.9 mph SOG.

I made it a little too deep so I had to trim it up and shorten it. I will get a picture this weekend of it mounted to the dash. I can still sit in my seat and see over over it. I have also removed the side plates as it made it harder to see from an angle. Hopefully next year I can Have it mounted next to an a78 versus my 2 older units.

Use the rt 12 launch. The one at the park is under construction right now and they aren't allowing people to use it.

Try www.boattrader.com lots of boats on there. Also don't shy from ebay. I'm not sure if you are looking for something local or not. -

I would venture a guess and say the sea star hydraulic steering would be cheaper than the tr-1, and you are already used to the sport pilot unit. Personally I would probably remove the power assist and put in the hydraulic steering. From a maintenance stand point the Sea Star hydraulic steering has a lot less crap to go wrong.

HAHA that is awesome that sounds like something my wife would say. This isn't a boat launch story but same mentality as those idiots. I was perch fishing on the water and was drifting through an area where there were no boats for an easy 5 miles. I had this guy motor up next to me drop anchor right where I was drifting thru. I just bit my tongue and on my next drift I went a little shallower. Next thing I know I hear this loud wapp followed by a splash on the side of my boat this guy is casting his sinkers right into the side of my boat. I asked if it was necessary and he flipped out saying I was drifting to close to "His Spot". Next time I drifted down thru I trimmed my boat up and plowed a good 5' wake in a circle around his 16' aluminum. He decided to leave after the waves damn near capsized him. The whole time my wife was telling me not to but my temper got the best of me.

Did you receive my payment for 2 of the magdas? I sent it out May 5th via paypal and haven't heard back from you. -
Here is one last photo of the boat and a couple walleyes after the 3 hour Sunday trip. We caught 2 huge smallmouth, a nice 38" pike and 2 walleyes.

We were actually running off shore planer boards and deep divers. The fish are generally really scattered so you need to cover a lot of ground and trolling stick baits seems to be the most effective in that area. I told him to wiggle his worm to maybe entice them a little.

Haha ya that was my buddy, he broke the zipper after taking a leak out the back. You know what they say he was trolling for...walleyes. haha No offense little crappie just thought it was fitting as we were trolling. Not sure yet but I am hoping to get back up. I heard Shangrila's prices are going up this season with the new owners. Looking forward to gettting back out. Actually didn't really cost me anything other than a new pair of boxers! haha I didn't think we were going to sink but I thought the one guy in the red jacket was going to have a coronary. I got her all ready except the bilge pumps it looks like I will be running 2 more lines this next week for the bilge pumps.

My buddy came up over the weekend for some walleye fun. We got the good old Chaumont bay grand slam. The last photo was of a storm front moving in. We were out on the water and I looked over and was getting dark, my buddy wanted to wait a few more minutes but I persuaded him it was time to leave. On the way in the sky lit up with spider lightning and I think he almost capped himself. On a side note the day we caught that one pike with my buddy in the red the boat almost sank. One of my rear deck plates broke and was filling the bilge without me knowing and the automatic bilge pump took a Crap. Once it filled enough the back of the boat got swamped and we had to haul balls out of there. Definitely made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. We got to shore and put her on the boat cradle and was able to drain her. At that point I wish I didn't have a full tank of full to weigh her down. No one got hurt thank goodness but the boat will have 2 automatic bilge pumps with an extra back up. Thank God for flotation foam and "unsinkable boats". Sent from my thinking chair...

I leave mine on sometimes when trailering from the launch to my father-in-laws. It is only about 1/2 mile and no faster than 15 mph so I don't see it being an issue. Any distance over that I would be pulling it.
-
My rear straps actually go back towards the console (forwards) and never had any issues of it holding. They like you to pull more on the bar than the little screws but my straps and bimini seem to be fine after 2 seasons. of being used all summer everyday.

Not quite the same idea. Your transom seldom comes out of the water and on most boats never does. With that being said hitting bumps in the road is enough to bounce the boat on the bunks and is a lot more jarring than any waves you could hit in your boat. I have a panther bracket built for a larger kicker and it says the same thing. I would guess that the jarring force of driving down the road could shear/fatigue the bolts that hold it to the transom. I would highly recommend adding a safety tie of some sort.
